There will be at least 4 or 5/10 LRs completed by 1st June, and presumably they will be deployed from LAX>SYD, ATL>JNB and ATL>PVG, these being DL's three longest routes!

Delta's current schedule does not appear to be addressing those routes. The ATL-PVG and ATL-JNB say the aircraft's are "777's" which if I understand their nomenclature, are the pre B777-200LR's and will remain pre 77L's until early 2020. Their airline schedule has also lost the 7HD (or B777-200ER's) coding and is using the B777-200LR (7HB) coding for ALL post 777's. ATL-NRT get a post 777 March 1st (I'm guessing a 200ER / 7HD). MSP-ICN get a post 777 April April 1st (I'm guessing a 200ER / 7HD). Next to be converted is LAX-SYD - I'm not too sure how or what will fit into DL's schedule of "rabbits out of the hat". My guess (which might be worth a regular cup of coffee) will be post 777-200LR.....and the routing will be something like: ATL-CDG-LAX-SYD-LAX-CDG-ATL which will in fact eliminate the domestic B777-200LR legs of ATL-LAX-ATL. Clear as mud, yah?

What has been everyone's experience with the new configuration "sticking" post booking? When I booked my 27 March ATL-CDG is was the old configuration so I grabbed 7D (7A was taken). It is now showing as the new suite configuration. I'm still in 7D but would prefer another seat in this configuration. Should I stay where I am which is a decent seat in either configuration or move to 3A which is great in the suite configuration but not so good in the older configuration?

777 retrofit comfort+ AND ps?

My upcoming international leg (avp>dtw>lax>Syd) shows that I'm on a 777-200er. I've heard that these are to be retrofitted for the LAX-Syd route in April 2019. I'm flying May 17, 2019.
My question is: does this plane have both Premium Select AND Comfort+ seats?
In the Delta app it shows my plane as having 3 cabins- 1st with the suites, PS, and a Comfort+ at the front of the Main cabin. Everything I've read says the plane should have either PS or C+, not both.
It lists the upgrade fees at $119 for C+ or $949 for PS. I've scored a great deal ($750rt) for a regular main cabin aisle seat but I am tempted to upgrade to more leg room to C+... But not if I'll end up losing the seat anyway due to there not actually being C+ and PS. I'd rather stick with my chosen aisle seat than get reassigned once they realize the glitch (if it is) and be out $119.
Any thoughts?

DL has decided to put Suites, Premium Select, Comfort + and Economy on all its international widebodies.

The 777s are currently being upgraded to have all 4. The A350s will get comfort+ added soon as well.

LAX-SYD will have all 4 seat types starting early April: https://news.delta.com/tailored-trav...eriences-march

Bottom line: it's not a glitch. Go ahead and upgrade to C+

Thanks! That helps, a lot. For some reason I just could not find any articles on it when I searched, but I knew someone here would know.

This thread has been a good read on the upgrades! (long time anonymous lurker, first time poster)

My wife and I are slated for MSP-HND in March and our seats were originally MC but with the refit it's saying we're now in C+ (row 30-something).

Is Delta going to bump us, ask for more $$, relocate us, or just leave us be since we picked seats before the refit was set for our route? I haven't gotten any notices about needing to take any action.

(also assuming this plane has actually been refit)

B772ER, N866DA, has been ferried to ATL to have the latest 4-class cabin installed. This new config will be 28J/48W/90Y+/122Y. There is a poster on another forum who says the code will also change from 7HD -> 7CD.

Thanks! Sadly I do not fly frequently enough to have any status.

So, following your thoughts (facts, etc) when 777-200LR's get upgraded to 3 groups (IE. 7HB) the addition of the 4th group should then be known as "7CB". And, then what will the A350-900's nomenclature become after the 4th group is added? Just trying to understand DL's MGMT thinking or ???

I have a similar trip as yours. I am now in C+ however when checking Delta app it shows my seat selection as awaiting for payment. And looking at the seat map of the flight, my seat is still open for selection. So I assume if someone buys up to C+ (or a plat / diamond) and select my seat, I will be bumped.

I'm seeing that too now on the app and desktop site (though not as clear there). So it sounds like I'm going to have to pay extra to keep the seats or risk getting bumped?
