777 D1 Suite PS + Comfort+ retrofit consolidated thread

Delta 777-200ER/LR Conversions to 7HD & 7HB. Pre-mods config is 37J/36W/218Y. For all the ERs and the first LR, post-mods config was initially 28J/48W/220Y (7HD/7HB). The post-mods config for all ERs and LRs is now 28J/48W/90Y+/122Y (7CD/7CB).

Modifications are taking place at SIN and the entry and exit dates are based on SIN time (GMT + 8 hrs). Comfort + installation was done at ATL on all the 7HD>7CD conversions, and on 7106 (7HB>7CB). The remaining 9 LRs had the C + cabins installed at SIN.

777-200ER: 8/8 7CD
N860DA 7001 - Entered Jan 2 2019...finished Feb 3 2019. Entered ATL March 12 2019 for C + installation...finished March 15 2019. Expected wfu 05 Oct 2020.
N861DA 7002 - Entered Jan 14 2019...finished Feb 17 2019. Entered ATL March 13 2019 for C + installation...finished March 17 2019. Permanently wfu on 17 March 2020.
N862DA 7003 - Entered Nov 29 2018...finished Jan 5 2019. Entered ATL March 6 2019 for C + installation...finished March 10 2019.
N863DA 7004 - Entered Feb 17 2018...finished June 6 2018. Entered ATL Feb 17 2019 for C + installation...finished March 3 2019. Permanently wfu on 22 September 2020.

N861DA is scheduled to fly to NRT tomorrow en route to SIN for mods, thus leaving N867DA as the only ER flying in the old config.

Just booked my first flight on one of these birds. Do we have any (informed) guesses on the quality of the seats in rows 30, and 31:C-G?

I’m flying this bird ina a couple of weeks MSP- HND in coach. Maybe upgrade to PS.

Don't forget that there is still one non-modded ER flying, N867DA, so even if the seat map shows the new config., on a domestic flight a swap is always possible. I assume you're flying on DL8801 in three weeks on 5th February.

retrofit finished by June?

I am booked in D1 in June; ATL-CDG on the 10th, AMS-ATL on the 14th.

Both flights are on Delta metal, and both are using 777-LRs. Utilizing the info from this thread, I can tell from the seatmaps on the Delta site that the outbound CDG flight is on a refitted unit (28 D-1 seats), whereas the return out of AMS looks like its on a pre-refit (37 D-1 seats). Of course things can change at the last moment, however this far out, how accurate is the projected use of the older configuration likely to be?

Just look at the seat map, is there a section 2-4-2? That's PS, so if you see that, then you have the new D1 suite.

I am on a 777 right now from Lax to Atl #194 . It is the old config. Absolutely nothing new in this plane.

That's because you are on #7108, N708DN. The only LR which has been modded so far is #7106 , N706DN. DL has been concentrating on getting the ERs done first, but probably wanted to have one LR done, so that the STC (Supplemental Type Certificate) was already signed off with no issues for the type.

here are the seat maps displayed side-by-side, becomes pretty obvious which is refitted and which is not. Is there a way to find out which plane has been designated for that flight? Then one could follow it to see if it goes in for refit....

One won't know reliably until a day or two in advance. Has DL come out and said all 777 and 77L will be refitted by the start of summer flying ~ June 1?

The ERs will be finished as there is only one left still flying in the old config. The question is how many LRs will be finished by 1st June with only 1/10 completed so far!
