LAX-SYD-LAX will commence mid 2019-April using B777-200ER (HD) according to DL schedules. That route is still short enough to be done by the ER's. Currently, the only DL route that is forced to be a B777-200LR is the ATL-JNB-ATL route.

Just got back from the HND-MSP flight. First impressions:
-The door is a little gimmicky. Doesn't provide much privacy as you can look into each suite from above. Maybe a slight noise buffer, but not noticable with noise cancelling headphones on.
-The seat in lie flat position reminds me of the 767 in terms of how low you are to the ground. Foot well is bigger than the 767 though.
-The seat doesn't go all the way to the window, leaving a few inches of space. I was in an even row window seat where the seat is closer to the window. It gives you a place to put your shoes off to the side without trying to fit them into a cubby. This also opens it up a bit to make it seem less coffin-like compared to the 767.
-The seat itself was pretty firm, but not drastically different than any other D1 seat I've flown. Bedding included a large and small pillow.
-Screen was big and responsive. Somehow they still can't get the games to load quickly, which is kind of shocking for how old those games are.
-Not sure if this is suite service related, but the flight did have a mid flight snack service. My outbound LAX-HND was a longer flight, but didn't have the mid flight snack. The snack basket on that flight was completely picked through before the arrival meal.
-Overall I'd slot the 777 suite slightly ahead of the a330 seat because of better storage options, but others might be turned off by the bed position resembling the 767 coffin. I haven't flown the a350 yet, so I can't compare against the two iterations of the suite.

And yes, the suite vs reverse herringbone debate goes on for dozens of pages in the A350 thread

Anyone fly the new bird in Y? Have a trip to SIN coming up in early 2019 and am going to spend the weekend in TYO on the way back. A359 via DTW to RDU or the refurbed 777 on HND - MSP - RDU are the most appealing (HND is particularly appealing for obvious reasons apart from no PM lounge available). Both in Y though would likely jump at a reasonable ($200-300) PS offer (especially since I just got the Delta offer of spend $300 get $60 back on my AMEX Plat).
Other option is A330 via SEA but I don't really want to fly on a TPAC and then transit to a TCON, would much rather have the 1.5-2 hour flight from MSP/DTW

Though A350 has the benefit of better humidity.

Does anyone know whether the bulkhead seats in PE have the generous leg room that C+ has on some of the wide-bodies?

It appears that ship N865DA (B777-200ER) is the next aircraft to get converted, It flew MSP-NRT today and probably onto SIN very soon. One would then assume that ship N866DA is ready to RTS (return to service) - basically a swap. So, DL is moving along at a nice pace. Not quite sure why there is a lull in getting the LR's done - guess there is no pressure into finishing them.
