Looking at the dates and time to complete, there appears to be a significant difference between the time for HB and HD refits. It begs a number of questions- Is it a consolidated effort and are they just focusing on the ERs over LR's? Or is there a significant difference in the installation itself and the work required? Or, are their separate teams/lines and it is just taking the LR team/line longer getting up to speed like it did with the first ER? Will the upgrade of subsequent LRs go more quickly? I guess unless there is a plant insider, any answer we be pure speculation.

It took just a tad over three weeks to complete 7005, the second ER airframe to receive the mod. 7106 has been in refit for over 7 weeks so either the mod is different enough to require a separate validation, or one of the other possibilities I mentioned.

Thanks for a real answer. I am not familiar with the differences between the two airframes, but thought it possible there would be enough commonality in the areas of cabin floor/structure, wiring bundles, power requirements, etc. that the STCs and testing would be nearly identical or the same- same (or no) change to gross wt, CG, flight characteristics, etc., etc.- nothing like if it was an AD or SD. I would think other items that might also apply, like evacuation drills, have already been done. Maybe they need to drill larger holes in the lightweight sandwich panel structural flooring plinths, A16 - B117, on the LR than on the ER.( real part, fictional numbers and mod).

I flew from atl to gru in it yesterday. I walked in and did a double take.. lol I was so confused because I knew there was no way we were flying an a350 down there.
Getting a suite was a nice surprise, but it was strange some of the doors were already falling apart.

Also interesting to note is that in the window seats, there is about a 6 inch gap between the left side of the seat and the window. It would have been really nice if the seat was that much wider, but I guess they wanted it to be the same across the whole product.

its kind of hard to explain, but in the seat in front of me which I think was 3a, the part that holds the suite door was not attached at the bottom, and when the guy tried closing his door it also came apart at the top, so the whole piece fell into the aisle until he caught it and messed with it until he got the top snapped back in, the bottom was still not attached to the floor.

although I noticed some scuff marks on the plastic shells of some of the suites already I’m assuming from things like luggage, It’s hard to tell if the shell wasn’t ever properly fixed in place, or if it was easy for it to “unbuckle” from whatever fixes it to the floor.
