Delta 777-200ER/LR Conversions to 7HD & 7HB. Pre-mods config is 37J/36W/218Y. For all the ERs and the first LR, post-mods config was initially 28J/48W/220Y (7HD/7HB). The post-mods config for all ERs and LRs is now 28J/48W/90Y+/122Y (7CD/7CB).

Modifications are taking place at SIN and the entry and exit dates are based on SIN time (GMT + 8 hrs). Comfort + installation was done at ATL on all the 7HD>7CD conversions, and on 7106 (7HB>7CB). The remaining 9 LRs had the C + cabins installed at SIN.

7006 is back in service. Seatmap showing 212 in Y.7001 appears to be the next in for C+: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N860DA
7004 - not sure when she'll RTS. Has been in ATL since 2/17.

Actually N706DN, the only LR to have been refurbished so far, isn't at ATL having the Comfort + cabin installed, as it's currently at PVG!

It looks like it has been flying daily MSP-CDG up until it arrived in Shanghai (PVG) on the 25th. It hasn't left PVG for ATL yet so can't see when C+ could have been done.

7004 is scheduled to re-enter service tomorrow, with the C+ cabin, from ATL>CDG:

Yesterday (3/4) I was looking at the rebooking options for BOS-MSP during the snow delays. I was surprised to notice that ATL-MSP flight 2799 was on a 777L. I don’t have an upgraded Flightaware account so can’t access the tail number. I was booked in F and was tempted to try for that connection routing to fly in the Suites, even for a couple of hours, then realized that the delays would probably mean I would miss connecting with that flight.

Thanks! Now I could look up the AC on the Wiki and see that the C+ installation was just completed in ATL. Presumably it was returning to MSP for use on HND or CDG flights. I may be on it for my MSP-CDG flight later this month. Unfortunately, I’ll be in C+; that ATL-MSP flight was my only chance at riding in one of the Suites.

Life with GUCs in a post-PE world

I'm about 33% using my GUCs - all from LAX-SYD or vice versa as that's pretty much the only International long haul I take. In April my understanding is the new cabin configuration, with D1, Premium Economy, Comfort+ and Main Cabin comes on-line.

I am curious as to any anecdotal experiences with ease of use for GUC to get into D1 only in the new cabin configuration.

I am of two minds on this subject:

- D1 inventory will be down, I think from 39 seats to 24 seats? Don't quote me on these numbers. But anyway, it will naturally be almost impossible to get a D1 seat now simply due to decrease in supply
- On the other hand, many people who purchase D1 now will be happy to save a couple of thousand and sit in PE. Additionally D1 seats will go up in price as supply dwindles, so it may be about the same if not slightly better than it is now

Thoughts?

The J count is going from 37 to 28 - as noted in the Wiki.

The first 777(an LR) so reconfigured has been in service nearly a year. Surely there are observations from would-be GUC users.

Well yeah, there should be observations - except you, or another mod, moved my question about GUC success rates to a thread about cabin interiors, which makes no sense.

7005, N864DA, which has been at ATL since Sunday and was reported to be there for C + cabin installation, is already re-entering service today so a quick turnaround. The seat map shows the 4-class config., however according to DL.com, when booking today's flight, it says that PS is "Not Offered"!

7003 arrived in ATL yesterday and hasn't flown since. Most likely in for C+ mods. https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/n862da
