Dear lord, and I only paid 160K miles to fly Concorde! I love the 747, but not THAT much - I can still find other airlines that still have them in service!

True - I freely admit I'm prone to hyperbole. DL is bringing some more CRJs online

They also have 100 737-900s...and plenty of other Boeing aircraft.

There are at least 12 others besides DL still flying the B744, so there are plenty of opportunities depending on one's preferences:

Air China
Asiana
British Airways
China Airlines
El Al
KLM
Korean Air
Lufthansa
Qantas
Saudi Arabian
Thai Airways
Virgin Atlantic

Not really. I don't expect Delta to ever order another Boeing under this management team. Delta wants a free ride from everyone and Boeing doesn't play that game. Delta loves to play the victim.

The 739 is the first Boeing plane that I really dislike.

it's really easy to slam Boeing for the product, but the truth of the matter is that any airline could choose to configure the 739 to provide a better passenger experience (with the possible exception of the F lav); the fact of the matter is that economics dictate they don't do so

Sure. It’s the airlines’ fault for not going 3-2 on the 737 in Y

Nope. It is the bankers and stockholders and vendors and employees that keep that from happening. Oh yea, and the customers that would not pay the higher fares if they went to 3x2 seating.

sorry .... a bit off topic

True, but the 727/737/757 all have the same cross-section, and somehow the 737-900 is particularly miserable...
