Delta Cutlery in The Old City of Jerusalem

Went today with friends from Argentina to the Old City of Jerusalem to a well known desserts restaurant. Lo and behold the forks were Delta branded

Nice!

In '05 or '06 the Delta museum store was selling pre-9/11 Delta cutlery for $1/set (salad fork, entree fork, spoon, knife). I bought a few sets for a ski condo - still using them.

Years and YEARS ago, I ate at a restaurant in Downtown Fort Lauderdale <not sure of the name, but, it's probably long gone> . . . and it was TOTALLY eclectic, in that, nothing matched. Silverware, dishes, tables, chairs. It was a mix of anything and everything! Very fun!

Wouldn't it be fun to have an airport restaurant or restaurant in an airport hotel that uses vintage dishes and silverware from all airlines?

My only regret about the restaurant is that they only serve water and maybe soft drinks but not coffee. Black coffee would be the perfect accompaniment to the sweetness of the knafeh. I seem to remember there's a cafe nearby too. In any case it's not far from Damascus Gate.

I saw the same thing a few years ago in a village near Oujda in Morocco.

If it wasn't Alessi cutlery, I'd tell them to take it back to the kitchen.

At the Austrian Hospice I'd expect nothing less than original cutlery from the Wiener Werkstätte
