chances DL will bump me up to DM with <100 MQM to go at year's end?

Hi all - I'm fairly new to DL so this may be an obvious question, but how likely is it that DL would bump me up to DM if I finish the year at around 124,900 MQM?

My MQDs for the year are around $23k.

I don't have the credit card yet but am considering opening it for the 10k MQMs if need be.

What would you do in my shoes? I do a lot of international travel, always in Y, so those international upgrades are worth quite a bit to me.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts here.

No soft landings. Take another trip.

Comes up every year about this time. Not likely at all they will concede it. My view is they have to draw the line someone where and I like it when they draw the line where they draw the line.

There have been stories of a few soft landings in the past couple of years. However there is also a new post in the last few days where someone will be about 300 MQM's short of DM and he does NOT want a soft landing. So you never know what people might be thinking.

Hilton and Delta have a promo out currently where one can get 250 MQMs. I not familiar with the other details, but it seems a one night mattress run in this case might be exactly what you need.

It has to be two nights sadly.

That is perfect - thanks so much! I have at least 4 more stays at Hilton before the end of the year. Appreciate the tip.

I would choose the longest routing possible on your flights for the remainder of the year i.e. if you are flying to BOS, take a layover in ATL rather than the direct flight or a layover in MSP or DTW. Taking the longest routing has saved me many times. Other option is a mileage run (which I will be doing since I will be a few $ short). LAX or SFO have some super cheap flights in the first half of December that will allow you to easily clear the hurdle if you have a couple hours to fly down and back.

Make sure you register for the Hilton promotion on the Delta website. Otherwise you will not get the MQMs.

Do you have an upcoming itinerary where you could SDC onto a slightly longer routing?

I seriously doubt it.

The airlines round down on miles so I can't see why they'd bump you up.
