Platinum member and #13 on the upgrade list got a F seat
 

on 2448 ATL-PBI.

it spit his new seat out when we both boadred during Sky boarding.

I am a diamond and was #6 on the list for 1 seat.

How in the heck could this happen?

FYI he is a colleague of mine and we are traveling together so I know his status.

Maybe he used a RUC?

No. We started the day in BNA and he confirmed no RUC.

he is at a loss as much as I am.

I didn’t expect to get upgraded at all but him getting upgraded is hilarious.

Does have the AMEX reserve card?

Boarded together in Sky, or did he board later? What did the seat availability say when you boarded? Did they start boarding before clearing F upgrades??

I boarded behind him.

he does not have the reserve card just a gold AMEX.

He was #13 as we walked to the gate.

Reminds me of when I flew ATL-MCO earlier this month and my FC UG box got unchecked which I noticed before I checked in at T-10 hours out. There were 16 pax on the list and 3 seats so not expecting an UG but still check the box anyway. I go to refresh my app and it now says I’m in 1A/First Class (RU).

only thing I can think of if he was booked in Y class. Delta never stops with their absurd shenanigans

Okay, but did they clear F upgrades before boarding? How was one seat available in F when they had gotten down to Sky Priority boarding? What was showing when they started PREM boarding?

He was on an X fare just Iike me.

As to the above I have no idea what the seatmap looked like after PREM (which I have and he doesn’t as a Plat) boarded.as we were connecting through. The one seat left was from when I checked as we were going from B to A.

About 75 passengers boarded after us.
