No sign of this getting better. I cancelled my Sunday LGA-MCO and PBI-LGA for later in the week.

Any reason known for it to happen?

I haven't heard anything about this yet, though we're still a few days out.

I would assume resources, materiel, personnel, HVCs, or some combination of the above were on the ground in PR and Delta didn't want them there.

edit: that baggage/pet waiver is incredibly generous.

^ - I don't recall them doing this in the past. It's a nice gesture for those impacted by the storm.

It's very generous especially as it doesn't seem to limit the number of baggage per passenger! Unless I missed it but I read twice

Seems like very a reasonable limitation.

I really doubt they would have done it if they thought it was risky. They saw they had a window to get a bunch of pax out, and they took it. Apparently, conditions on takeoff were only winds around 25mph.

Yup. Basically: we'll get you out, but if it's a choice between people and stuff, we're taking people.

Twitter thread (as a "moment") of the DL431/DL302 op into and out of SJU:

52 minutes between "on" and "off" - including taxi in, unload, load, taxi out. Wow.

Not to be too glib about what is shaping up to be a really bad situation but I can't not when I think about dozens of people trying to bring 10+ bags

For those of us in the path of the storm, it is nice to smile every once in a while!
