Delta Los Angeles Vintage Poster
Hi all,'I'm absolutely obsessed with DL and have a collection of 1970s vintage posters all over my flat in NYC. I have one, in particular, that I don't get. It's a Delta Los Angeles poster with a woman wearing a golden snake on her head and some sort of a police officer behind her. Any help interpreting this poster is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

The women is Cleopatra and the officer is dressed like a British police officer. (Possibly from India by the color of the hat)
Bottom line LAX is where motion pictures were produced and these were common in movies of the time. No different then if they had a poster of NY with a picture of Wall Street. Simply an image referring to the area.

David Klein's vintage TWA posters from the 50's and 60's are pretty cool too. I first saw them in an old Twilight Zone episode that had a travel agency scene in it (the TWA logo had been covered over). After a bit of googling, I figured out where they came from.

I've collected vintage aviation posters for several years. There's so much fantastic stuff out there, especially from the 50s forward (the earlier stuff is nice too, but can be crazy expensive).
If OP or anyone here is looking for more info or wants to dive right in, there are a few wonderful galleries in Chelsea in NYC plus some others here and there around the US. But beware the gougers. Auctions can be a great resource too.

Couple more from my collection...another Western Airlines (a Delta acquisition) featuring what looks like an early Cheryl Tiegs model to promote Los Angeles. Also, somewhat less Delta-relevant, another Klein, this one the psychedelic-inspired Vegas poster...

The woman is silent film star clara bow. You can see her in that exact costume if you search a bit. The cop is a "keystone cop" same era also silent.
So that solves that mystery. Now for the next one "it was old man withers all along" and he would have gotten away with it if not for those meddling kids. LOLOLOL!
