DL Companion Flying - Standby Benefits on Aeromexico?

Hi All,

Does Aeromexico allow for Same-day Standby? If so, if I am flying with a companion (on the same PNR) who does not have elite status, will the be eligible to use the benefits, specifically same-day standby?

https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...-benefits.html

Thank you in advance.

Those are benefits when on DL operated flights. AM only does SDC on FC tickets. For coach ypu have to pay whatever the chabge penalty is.

Edit - they do SDC for coach, but only for some coach fares. Full Y type also gets it without needing to wait till airport. .

And on DL operated flights I believe the companion has to have a skymiles account to be able to receive complimentary benefits (upgrades, etc.).

I should have been more clear. I have a DL issued ticket with 2 DL flight numbers. Third flight is a AM flight number.

https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...-benefits.html

states that these are benefits when *flying* on a partner airline. If it was a DL operated flight then DL benefits would apply...

Anyone else have a more clear answer on this one?

AFAIK AM doesn't have SDS. Only SDC. Regardless, AM doesn't allow SDC for the cheap tickets. Only more expensive tickets. Qualifying fares less then full flexible can be done only at airport. Full flexible fares can be done via call center. The cheapest Y fares don't even allow for changes. However as you have a DL ticket, I believe all SDC can only be done at the airport. Note, DL cant do anything in this regard, only AM. Thus since your first two flights are on DL, you won't be able to get placed confirmed until you reach the point you connect onto AM metal.

Finally, note that standby, doesn't just mean voluntary change standby (SDS type). Instead for most airlines, it means when IRROPS happen. If theres no space you get placed on standby, with priority over those without status.

FULL Y should allow free changes at any time if the airline is selling FULL Y tickets on the flight, so there's no need to follow SDC rules or wait to make the change (unless you're changing the outbound and there's a risk of the ticket being refared).

BTW, don't Double Diamonds still get special secret privileges?
