it is clearly a business product, and everyone knows it. No travel agent will sell it as other than business, and what you get is very clear. No one is going to buy this and go "oh, crud, I thought I was getting an EK suite" As others have said, its a damn nice seat, better by far than what UA is putting in with "Polaris" with its "Suite like experience"

The door is a nice addition, I might add. I would certainly shut mine... How it works in practice with meal service, etc, TBD.

p.s. And this will be - by far - the best seat offered by any US flagged carrier, other than the very few AA planes that are retaining a true First Class (which itself is a poor shaddow of what EK, SQ, etc offer....

And, frankly, I think most people buying it are savvy enough to know that, FT or not.

Hmm, maybe I did, sorry. Hopefully they ramp up the line production line. Wasn't cheap at $49.99, but will look nice beside my DL 744 1:200. I'll post a pic when I get it (delivery scheduled 4/4)

Yes! The first 11 are confirmed to be N501DN-N511DN and the next 14 should be N512DN-N525DN, unless, like on some of the new B739ERs and A321s, there is an occasional N***DA or N***DX reg because the N***DN isn't available!

yeah, what's up with that? E.g. all the new A321s are N3xxDN except N307DX.

The next ones to be delivered are:

N318DX
N319DN
N320DN
N321DH
N322DN
N323DN
N324DX

So as you can see, occasionally there is a different last letter!

When will delta start flying the A350?

All,
I have been reading that Delta will start flying the A350 this Fall, and pictures of the Delta One suite look awesome.

I have 2 Global Upgrades that expire in February 2018, so I want to try and use them, as soon as Delta puts this plane into operation.

Does anyone have any idea of when this may happen?

Also, what routes does everyone think it will fly?

Thanks in advance
Albert

No formal announcement yet. Probably late summer or fall. Probably initially between Detroit, Atlanta, and Los Angeles for training purposes. The first batch will probably be used primarily Detroit to Tokyo, Seoul, and Shanghai. Later on probably LAX to the same Asian cities. Some say the 350 is too much plane for Seattle to Asia, but not good enough at least for Delta from LAX to Australia.

The A350 was primarily purchased to replace the 747. So I would think that the first A350 s would be used on the current 747 routes over the Pacific out of DTW and others. Its a long haul aircraft.
