This assumes that people in the group know each other well enough to check someone else's bag. It's not necessarily a wise thing to do, especially for international travel. Do you really know what someone could have in their bag that could cause trouble for you?
And if OP is going with his parents and spouse that's 4 of the people right there, I'd imagine they aren't also taking two relatively random people. Most likely close family members or OP's kids. OP could always also ask nicely at the airport if they can help him out with an exception due to the CC and all on the same flights. |
Too lazy to read all the comments not sure if this has been mentioned. But in the past I called and tell them that they're all traveling with me and put them on my reservation.
And when I check in at the airport we all go up to the same representative and tell them the situation and I have never had an issue, they always say wonderful and waive everyones bag fees |

That can be a good solution.
Parents in first on award tickets - and with the F baggage allowance. The OP on a paid ticket (earning MQM) in coach with the rest of the travelers (also paid) in a single reservation to take advantage of the Amex bag benefit. |

I might upgrade my parents. Trip is end of May 2018 so tickets are not even for sale yet. If the cost is not to outrageous I will put them in First. I will be in first to though. 6-3, some back issues, and little claustrophobic I gave up the back of the plane long ago so I am sure Delta likes me with all the A and G tickets I pay for. I have no issue making the MQD mark.
PM flying with friends - free bags / Amex question You should be able to get the Medallion baggage allowance for everybody regardless of what PNR they are on. Always helpful to provide status information upfront with these queries. |

If you are a Medallion member, you should read this thread. Specifically Post 5 by the invaluable Widgets.

I assume we can all in the sky priority line since at least myself and my wife will be in F and I should be Silver or Gold by then. |

I currently have no status. I will be Silver once my Amex Boost posts. I made the MQD for Silver and MQD Waiver with my Amex. I might make Gold this year pending personal and work trips.
