OT, but have you also missed COW DO? As always, it's over Labor Day weekend again this year, roughly August 31st through September 4th, but check the dates in the thread in Community Buzz. You seem to go to EZE regularly and IIRC expressed regret at just missing one some previous year.

At one point I typed out a response, but didn't post it, warning you the Pinewood just isn't good. I live close and have been there twice. Both times were bad. My sister lives walking distance and my best friend works in a building a few steps away. Both of them have had nothing but bad experiences there. You were better off at South City Kitchen.

My 2 SkyPesos worth . . . .

Back from MEX and finally found the time to post . . . . .

Thanx VERY MUCH to Zorak for taking the time to arrange all of this! As I said way upthread, I'm disappointed in myself that I didn't book this as a separate weekend from MEX, as I would have LOVED to have done the TRACON tour, and spend some more time doing meals with fellow FlyerTalkerz! I LUV to eat!!! . . . plus, Atlanta is my favorite restaurant city!

That said - - a SPECIAL thanx to sky303 and sky303's dad, for taking the time to spend about an hour or more with with CaptainMiles & me, giving us a tour of the Delta Operations Control Center (OCC). Even though it wasn't my first time there, there's SO MUCH to see there, that you'll always see new things, plus, you'll get a very different viewpoint of the operations with a different tour guide <sky303's dad>! Then, a very interesting pass through some of the cockpit simulators of pretty much every aircraft imaginable, after which, a brief tour of the emergency exit door training area with a mock up of every possible aircraft type door! Amazing! Even the water emergency training - sky303 posted a window pic upthread.

Then . . . a thrill for me, was when we stumbled upon a new FA class < >. When they found out that I'm a DM, they asked me to give a brief talk < > to help them understand our needs! < >

Is my nose growing? - - The large auditorium was really empty. - - It was just a fun faux pic!

It was VERY NICE to meet those of you who did the SkyClub crawl on Friday afternoon. Finally got to meet MSPeconomist, after all this time chatting! It was a pleasure! MEMLawGuy, johnnywho, ND76, (CaptainMiles & sky303, who I went to the Surplus Sale with) . Seems like I missed 1 or 2?!?

The surplus sale was FUN! I spent a fortune! - - bought a new mug with old Delta, Comair & ASA logos - - for $1! What a bargain!

THANX again to all who helped organize, and attended! I'd like to do a mini-DO in Pittsburgh someday. Let me know if anyone's interested!!
