Delta pilot hits passenger during fight
http://m.tmz.com/2017/04/29/delta-pi...lanta-airport/
We're told the incident went down sometime on April 21. The plane had just landed and the passengers were leaving the jetway when 2 women started fighting.
The pilot appears and tries separating the women. He then grabs one of them by the arm and hits her. The pilot walks away as the women are still on the ground.

Video appears to show the Delta pilot trying to break up a fight in the jetway between two women, one of whom was on top of the other. It appears that the passengers were deplaning when the catfight broke out.

Pilot was initially suspended during Delta's investigation, and has since returned to work.

Delta's statement:

Delta's statement:
We became aware of this incident and a video last week and immediately removed the pilot from duty while we completed a thorough investigation. Local law enforcement was called to respond at the time of the incident. The pilot has since been returned to work as our investigation found that his actions deescalated an altercation between passengers on the jetway floor during deplaning.

You would think Delta would teach their employees not to get involved due to liability concerns. There was no threat to the flight and it was not even on the aircraft. Delta doesn't own the jetway so let them fight til the death.

I believe Delta owns jetways in Atlanta except for common use gates. The story said the women started fighting onboard then went into the jetway.

Because for the vast majority of Americans, air travel now has all the joyous anticipation of a root canal or colonoscopy.
These incidents aren't sensational because they're just grimly expected. But all that means is most travelers in steerage are on edge from the get-go. It's a tinderbox back there. And there's almost always someone who just has to express loudly how disgusting he thinks it and his fellow passengers are.
All in all a great job by carriers and their regulators to fnord (ref: Illuminatus by Shea and Wilson) the entire flying experience.
I'm convinced it's intentional. Too successful a lockdown to have been a fluke.

Ray Rice shaking his head.
Pilot should have no liability as he was conducting himself as a human being trying to restore order.
The challenge with this story is if police were called and dragged one or both of these women should that be a news story?
