OCD pays off

My reservation for a transcon this weekend was stuck in a middle C+ seat, and I've been checking the seat map a few times a day, every day.

This morning, a C+ aisle had opened up, and I pounced on it. It felt therapeutic.

So the question is, how many times a day can one check before it crosses the OCD barrier?

You can check an equal amount of times as cats you own

Or you can let a computer check for you, all day every day.
ExpertFlyer seat alerts are worth most of the subscription fee, IMO.

Actually, the ExpertFlyer Free subscription includes the Seat Alert feature. So you don't even have to pay for it.

True - but IIRC, only one alert at a time for the free version. I usually have 3+ at any given time for a number of upcoming flights.

But yes, even the free feature is excellent! ^

Back in the days of Delta flights to Dubai, I was booked in a middle seat for the 15 hour DXB-ATL leg. By three days before the flight, I might have been checking every 15 minutes. Like you, it paid off, I eventually snagged an aisle seat. OCD? Yeah, I'd say I was.

I made a formula to determine the OCD ratio. I think it's pretty good.

OCD > Flight hours x square root of days until flight... yes I made a spreadsheet...I may be OCD.

Since something bad really WILL happen if you don't keep checking, I don't think this even qualifies.
