Since this thread seems to be popular, i'll ask another question instead of making a new thread.

I noticed that you can order a special meal prior to your flight if you have dietary restrictions. How do i go about doing that? Im on a Low fodmap, gluten free diet for a few weeks to see what triggers my IBS-C

You are on an E fare - NO SOUP for you!!

(More seriously call or do a SSR on line - but there is no meal service in coach except on long haul flights).

No, long haul is international or transcon (coast to coast). Delta will be more than happy to sell you food. But no soup so bring your own snack from home.

Not totally true anymore. Delta is now serving meals in economy on 12 domestic routes. These would be considered long haul domestic, but it is only in these 12 markets, not on all domestic long hauls:

BOS-SFO, BOS-LAX, BOS-SEA, DCA-LAX, JFK-PDX, JFK-SAN, JFK-SEA, SEA-FLL, SEA-MCO and SEA-RDU

All have one thing in common, they're transcontinental flights.

Yes, absolutely. It's just that all transcon domestic flights don't have this service, so you have to be aware of which ones offer it. For example, it is not offered on LAX-RDU/MIA/CUN.
