Seeing the flight history on FlightAware makes me a bit sad. The week prior to scrapping it flew 21 revenue flights. Obviously still a serviceable aircraft.

Was it modded or still PMNW?

per the "Narrow-Body Fleet Update" thread, as of earlier this month it was one of only a handful that weren't yet done

Are you sure they are all adults? I confess I would find it just as tiresome if they were kids arguing about it, though.

How many more dumpy PMNW aircraft to go? 200? Amazing NW called these state of the art in press releases in 2007.

Plus many of the malcontented and bitter employees.

Was it Minnesotan ingenuity to have a wider aisle? Funny because in contrast to the short/mid-haul missions these aircraft serve today, they were the modern/flagship narrowbody for NW and flew many longer routes like DTW to West Coast. Wider aisles make sense with more cycles and shorter stage length, and wider seats for longer stage length and fewer cycles.

The press release called the A319 "modern", not the A320 described in this thread, and at that time, the average fleet age for the A319 would have been way under 10 years. It is a modern aircraft, fly by wire and still being delivered to airlines around the world to this day. Just because you have a grudge against NW/people older than you/Airbus doesn't mean you need to clog this forum with the same repeated drivel (your posts in this thread nearly mirror yours in the other: how dare they call Airbus modern, NW employees are old and bitter, etc.).

That's interesting, I thought DL wasn't planning on retiring any A320's anytime soon?

I love the FT'ers who stay up to date on the fleet information and post it for us neophytes. It's very valuable.
