I’ve always had this issue, and am never able to use OLCI for international flights. Delta explained to me that this is the case for anyone with my particular name (I have an extremely common Scandanavian first name/last name combination), and it is true for many other names.

The trick is to scan your passport at one of the self-service kiosks upon arrival at the airport. In my experience, that results in printed boarding passes marked “DOCS OK” every time. It isn’t that big of a deal.

In my experience getting your passport verified doesn't do anything for you. They'll still ask to see it, especially ex-US to the EU.

Apologies for repeating myself, but in my experience and my wife’s experience, scanning your passport at a self-service kiosk results in boarding passes marked “DOCS OK,” which simplifies the brooding process. Having a “verify docs” boarding pass can result in having to see a gate agent prior to boarding, which in some cases has caused me to miss my boarding zone altogether.

I did this the last time I was at DFW and my uber was taking forever. I'm still showing up as NOT YET VERIFIED in my profile.

I didn’t say it will fix the issue in your profile - in my experience there is often nothing you can do about that (see my post prior to the one you quoted). However, printing a specific boarding pass using this method avoids being pulled out of line at the gate to see the GA.

Just FYI... After years of getting the dreaded "SSSS" printed on all my international flights BPs, i finally got TSA Pre-Check and subsequently Global Entry. Ever since then I have not had "SSSS" pop-up on my BPs and my SM account has shown my passport info as 'Verified by Delta". However, I am still not able to check-in online for International Flights and just check-in at the kiosk and then head to the bag dump where they verify my docs. Hope this helps...

ah, ok. In the past I've seen people claim this would also fix it in your profile.

I wasn't very clear, sorry

I don't have a problem handing them my passport , but not being verified will not allow me to print a boarding pass online.

Yup. After renewing my pp and despite having traveled internationally several times and sticking my pp into the kiosk to “verify”, my pp information remains stubbornly unverified at DL’s end. This was not an issue before renewal. I have GE, but an extremely common name.

Yes, if you scan when you get there for that particular flight. But doing it once does not fix it in the future. You will still have to show it to the gate agent unless you have scanned it at the kiosk for that particular flight. It's either-or. I always just scan it at the gate.

It took about 5 international trips before mines showed verified. The last time it didn't show as verified the GA actually called me name saying she needed to verify visa info on my passport. But I was flying to a country that didn't require a visa and she was also stumped.

Delta is just OCD about international travel. I've never seen an airline care so much about whether I had my passport with me or whether I will fulfill my obligations (I had one gate agent interrogate me about how long my stay in an EU country was going to be.. really? I was on a 3 day round trip ticket with 5 other domestic Delta flights booked the following 4 weeks). I get that there are fines for certain countries if a carrier transports someone without valid papers, but Delta just takes it to the extreme.

With United you can scan it on your phone and never have to show it again.

Because otherwise you have to wait in line to see the GA prior to boarding, which can take a while, or risk getting pulled from the boarding line. Neither is an issue if you scan your passport at a kiosk.
