ATL International Arrivals PreCheck
Folks - I am looking for some help with an email campaign to both ATL and DL regarding the international recheck area in E and F. As many of you are no doubt aware, there is no Pre lane at either location.
I have contacted TSA and DL to press for one and the response I got back from DL was that TSA claims there is not enough demand (at the busiest airport in the US).
While I realize that each airport is different, the fact is that many airports are easier to arrive and connect into than ATL. PHL, CLT and LAX are just three examples.
So please help me put some pressure on DL and ATL. Both of them are going to have more pull with TSA than I do....
Thanks in advance.

All for this. Heck, I'd be happy with a second TSA line open (or 3rd/4th). Especially in summer with all the tourist travel to Europe, it can take 2 hours to clear security if you fly into E. Half tempted to just leave the airport completely and re-check in like it's a new flight half the time.

Agree that if you arrive into F, your best strategy is absolutely to leave the inspection area and go upstairs for PreCheck.
The current ATL arrivals experience is a nightmare and I'd love to do something about it. Do you have a recommended contact at the TSA and/or at the ATL airport authority we should be mailing?

Email campaigns are useless.
If TSA tells you that there is insufficient demand, you need metrics to refute that. Speak with the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and see if you can't get some help with DL in getting both some metrics from DL on # of pax w. Pre-Check making intl. connections and in pushing for a lane.

But the only non-TSA party who has a voice in this is DL. If DL wants the facility, they can get it.
The Atlanta Chamber of Commerce? I guess you don't live here :-)

Seeking update: How is the situation now in Oct 2018? Arriving without checked bags -- is best bet to get precheck still to leave as if arriving ATL and heading up to departures?

There is now a dedicated PreCheck lane in the E and F international arrivals checkpoints so this is no longer necessary.

Maybe I’m missing the issue, but in Sept when I arrived from abroad and made a domestic connection at ATL it seemed quite simple. I bypassed the long immigration line with my Global Entry. Pre-check was readily available after picking up my luggage. What am I missing?

You think connecting is annoying? Try being an Atlanta passenger. They refuse to allow you to use the customs/immigration point in E, even if you have no checked luggage and are willing to go back through security. It would be so easy. But instead, you have to walk another half-mile or more, exit the F terminal, and take the horrible International Terminal Shuttle back over. Not only that, they are now literally YELLING at arriving pax in E to use the Global Entry kiosks at that location, adding to the confusion. "Do your immigration check here, but DON'T YOU DARE exit! You need to walk a half mile." (I paraphrase.) Even worse, they actually have CORDONED OFF the side passageway that leads to F. You have to know where it is (it's unsigned) and request an employee to let you through. Then these same employees get short and irritated when you ask questions.
Geez, give me a break.
