Don't All Delta Purchases Count as MQDs?

Ok, I've never bought a ticket for someone else before, so maybe this is a stupid question. A friend and I went on a trip together, and I purchased both tickets. Looking at my SkyMiles account, it seems I only received MQDs for one of the tickets. I thought I received MQDs for all purchases? Note: I used a Gold Delta SkyMiles American Express Card for the purchase (I purchase all Delta tickets using this card).

You only get MQDs for the flights YOU fly.

MQDs accrue only to the passenger who flies the ticket, not the purchaser.

Sigh... Thanks. Reading the rules, I wasn't very clear on that.

But your spend will count towards your MQD Waiver.

Yeah, that's the bright side, but I never get anywhere near the $25K spend

If change fees applied... that would be awesome. but nope. pure profit to Delta and no benefit only pain for the customer.

What's the difference? Your profile says you're a Diamond, so, apparently, you don't need the waiver?!?
