Yes, I agree with your statement. The one A359 DTW-AMS legs have been in Deltas' schedule for quite some time (and was inserted into its schedule because the aircraft flying the route otherwise would have been overnight-ed in DTW for the next mornings TPAC departure). As Delta adds more A359's (and for that matter A339's) they will include certain flight combinations to be TATL-ing and TPAC-ing. Some of Deltas B767-300ERs do that now. Delta will now (for a few months this fall) try this out on one A359 ATL-AMS route.

I think it came about after the development of the ULR. Once they did that, all production of non-ULR variants also got the updated winglet.

A350 D1 Bulkhead?

Has anyone flown in 1B/1C on the A350? Is the galley noisy? And was there more room in the footwell?

I have flown in the window bulkheads and did not notice any difference in footwell size. I would not be concerned about the galley noise However I would be very concerned about noise from both restrooms which are located directly across from 1b and 1c both light and noise may be a big issue IMO.

Any ideas of the best center section seats for couples? Bummer about the lack of air vents!

I would avoid seats 1B and 1C they are located with doors to the suite right across from the Lavs. I think anything from row 2 back is fine

Any further insights on this for 2A/D? If they do have massive footwells, I would probably take one of these seats as I have big feet. Are there any caveats for these seats that would be different than the 767 bulkhead? If these seats are advisable, is there anything I should consider in seat selection? I will be taking a window. All even numbered seats on both sides are open. Row 3 and 5 windows are all taken.

The light just turned on in my mind / head.....pertaining to Deltas' deferment / and-or / converting of their last 10 A359 aircraft delivery dates to 2025 or ??
.....My thoughts are Delta will still take delivery of the last 10 A359's.........for the replacing of their current 8 B777-200ER aircraft.
Will the last 10 A359 deliveries be Airbus's ULR versions?
.....My thoughts are "YES" - then Delta's fleet of these aircraft "CAN" be used on their current longest route - ATL-JNB.....making way "eventually" for the 77L's (B777-200LR) retirement.
Sorry, my next statement is a bit off subject but a related note:
.....After all is said and done, Delta will still have some 76E's that have no replacement aircraft in site or ordered (359's are too big an aircraft and 339's are also)
Again, sorry about the last statement.

The 777s will be around for a quite a while yet. By that time, the 777X will be an option open to DL also. No way to know yet how that will turn out.

Boeing has been working for years on a 767 replacement, tho they have not officially committed to launching it. DL has openly talked about being a launch partner if/when that happens. DL has nothing on order currently to fill this hole because nothing exists; there is no small widebody currently on the market, other than the smallest 787s which have not done well.

Despite some people who believe there is a DL-Boeing war (which I think is nonsense), I could definitely see a DL order for a bunch of MOMs and a handful of 777Xs

Can anyone offer feedback on the premium select seats on this plane? Flying NRT > DTW later this year, and have been booked in that cabin. Right now I've taken a bulkhead window because I feel like it'll give me a chance to have a wall to lean against AND get out of my seat without disturbing my neighbor. Is that possible in the regular PS rows as well though? If I can throw my backpack under the seat in front of me, lean against the wall, but also sneak out without waking my seatmate, then I'd happily move a row back. Appreciate any feedback from those who have flown this plane / cabin!

Currently on LAX-HND sitting in D1 for my first experience in the DL suites.

My A/V system does not work, and nor does my power outlet.

Crew has been great, the purser very embarrassed as they were even hyping up the A350 in the boarding area announcing all the new features, etc.

Purser gave me 15,000 Miles and told me to send a complaint to DL.

A couple other people in J have weird things happening too....one girl has no audio, one other seat has no power, too.

Top-notch crew (Thanks, Mendy!), but boo to the problems. They tried to fix it for 3 hours straight even consulting with ATL.

Flying home same flight so I hope I get one of the other birds. lol

I'd also like to know this. I am flying PVG-DTW next March with my wife and currently have the bulkhead seats reserved (my wife likes the window, I like the aisle so the side works well). One downside is that the screen is stored in the armrest but I'm not sure how negatively that impacts things as opposed to having it on the seat in front of you. Not sure if there is any other reason to take a normal row instead of bulkhead.

Is there a breakdown on the A350's four group seating - I was trying to find the counts and am unable to locate one. I'm sure there is one out here somewhere but hidden a bit.

Ended up getting 30k Skymiles for no A/V or power on LAX-HND.
