Forum default view

Last 24hrs I've had fun trying to use website. Everyone I use the DL forum it keeps switching from the Mobile view I have set as default. It switches to the new view. I even went to make sure it was still set correctly. However there's wording now that the forum default will sometimes override. This is making it unusable on my smartphone. Since just on via cell, it's making it nearly impossible to use. Was there a change in last 24 hours? I even tried on laptop and same thing. Set to mobile, click on a thread and bam, switched to normal view.

Firstly, what browser do you use? Chrome will have a feature called "Always request desktop mode", make sure that isn't checked.

Secondly, as I'm sure you've already done, you'll disable infinite scroll from settings to opt out and change the view from settings.

There also should be a fairly big box on the page as well that says [Mobile Website] tap that.

Hope this helps.

Also don't forget when on the phone to keep the former unchecked and check the second one.

Don't see that anymore. There's the drop-down to select a different skin, but it doesn't stick. Every new page you click to opens up in the full view.:td:

After checking your options, you need to click SAVE at the bottom.

Following instructions in an early post in the thread linked in the Infinite Scroll announcement worked for me.

Looks like they finally fixed. Can again use mobile version w/o being switched each click.

For the record a system wide launch going live is not a beta. A beta is something that while available to most/all requires opting in. It's designed to test bugs before going live and making a change for all live. FT IT seems to make DL IT look like geniuses.

+1 I've been having similar thoughts today...

I only get the view I want in this thread. All other threads on FT I get the FT Infinite Scroll.

haven't yet tried this myself, but maybe you have to save (per MSPEconomist's post above) for each thread you want to convert? I'm not an IT guy, but that would be a really stupid implementation

It's fixed. I had gone into the settings and set the default skin to "vBulletin 3 FT Style 3.7.6 PL2" thinking this would fix it. I didn't see the disable Infinite Scroll checkbox. It's working now that I found it.

No, it shouldn't be necessary to do something for each thread. I just followed the directions, including clicking SAVE after making my choice, and it worked globally over all of FT, at least so far.......
