FLL: Terminal 1 to Terminal 2

FLL: Terminal 1 to Terminal 2
Quick question: In a few weeks I will be arriving on a DL flight (T2) in FLL. A friend arriving on Southwest (T1) will be meeting me.
I understand T1 and T2 are not connected behind security so I will have my friend meet me at DL baggage claim. Is it possible to just walk from T1 to T2 or does he need to take a shuttle? If one can walk, where is the connector located?

Yes, I did this last year. I arrived on SW and walked to the Delta terminal baggage claim at T2 to meet my cousin. It is a very easy walk. Just go downstairs (baggage claim level) in the SW terminal, go outside, take a right. The sidewalk will take you there. Most of the walk is covered. It is only a few hundred yards to the first entrance into T2 baggage claim.

Be aware that as a result of last week's incident, Delta has been using baggage claims in Terminal 3. I haven't seen any updates about when Terminal 2 baggage claim will reopen. I would hope that it would be reopen by then but something to keep aware of.

I almost posted the terminal change, but did a quick look and Delta is back to their normal terminal.

I've walked between Terminals 1 and 2 many times. They are right next to each other and connected by a sidewalk. Couldn't be easier!
