Sounds like a summary of the Vikings' season.

Of course, I say this as a Bengals fan...

Intersting that they fly an A330. Wonder how they decide who gets to sit in D1. Also interesting that they fly into ATW and not GRB.

Why is DL (thus far) the only one the major US3 airlines this winter that can't keep its planes on the runway/taxiway? Just a few days ago they had an incident in DTW and now this?

Between their deteriorating customer service and operations things aren't looking as rosey over at DL. What gives?

They stay in Appleton at the Radisson hotel. All visiting NFL teams do this. They usually fly out of GRB though.

And me as a Vikings season ticket holder...

After 4 hours, they are off the plane.

What a season it has been.

Possibly because the team hotel is in close proximity to ATW?

As far as who gets what seats, I wouldn't be surprised that that is negotiated between the league and the NFL players' association. They probably need a large aircraft because the entourage is so large--beside the 47 players who dress and the 6 member "practice squad", there are probably 25-30 coaches, the trainers, the publicity, statistics, photography and film people, plus team sponsors who rate to go on the charter. I think that they truck the football equipment to the visiting stadiu.

In 1996, I got booked by a travel agent onto the Naval Academy charter for the trip to Dublin to play Notre Dame. The aircraft was a TWA 747. The coaching staff sat on the upper deck. The Navy team was literally stuffed into 3-4-3 seating in the second section of Y.

Um. Afaik. All the NFL visiting teams fly in and out of Appleton. You really think they ferry an A330 aircraft into Greenbay for the team to leave on? I don't think so.

Also, owners , executives & Coaches sit in FC. The NFLPA has nothing to do,with it & equipment is flown on the charter. This isn't college. It's isn't trucked around. It flies with the team. Billion dollar industry.

IIRC they fly on charter configured jets generally... entire cabin is "D1" configured.

Not for NFL Planes. Usually they give the big guys the first class/D1 seats, and they allocate 1.5 seats to every other player (so a row of 2 has 1, a row of 3 has 2, etc).

i know the Jaguars use AA this year after using DL as far back as I remember. But, they use a VS A340 for the London game specifically because of the number of Upper Class seats.

sorry for going a little off topic....
