I'd much rather Delta provide higher quality snacks rather than a microwave dinner.

The headline gave me pause. But the last sentence allowed me to exhale!

Delta announces new snacks lineup, retires Delta-branded offerings

After decades of service, Delta Air Lines-branded peanuts and pretzels are stepping down as the airline’s Main Cabin snack offering. With those snacks’ retirement set for Dec. 14, Delta is unveiling its improved onboard lineup including Snyder’s of Hanover® pretzels, Squirrel Brand Honey Roasted peanuts and NatureBox Apple Cinnamon Yogurt Bars. The airline’s beloved signature Biscoff cookies will remain in service.

That was my initial reaction too!

The change in snacks looks nice improvement.

DL must've struck a marketing agreement to subsidize the costs; the Delta-branded (King Nut, but they've used other suppliers like Kar's) products they replace were very good and very cheap.

Sure. Ads on the AVOD channels, destination marketing on the upcoming flight emails and the old HOOU coupons - Delta will help sell your brand - you just pay us a fee.

Yet Biscoff survives!

I've heard many, many people joke about Biscoff being the real reason they fly Delta. Perhaps this is one piece of customer feedback they are taking to heart?

Thank God Biscoff stays!

Bring back Sun Chips and peanut butter crackers! DL used to have a decent snack selection before the days of Richard Anderson. Now that he's gone, it's starting to come back.

Biscoff may be DL's biggest product marking success. DL refers to Biscoff as its signature inflight snack, and Biscoff's website identifies its product with Delta, even though American (and previously others) serves them.

Biscoff recently announced that it's building its first bakery outside of Belgium in North Carolina, as the USA has become its largest market. And yes, retail sales triumph airline sales.

It really wouldn't be surprising if DL got these cookies for next to nothing.

Not that Biscoff cost much. It's a perpetual 10-for-$10 item at local super markets; I saw a larger, 32-cookie package for $2.50 at a Ralph's recently. That's only 0.001 cents per calorie!

Aww, I preferred the plain peanuts to honey roasted. Bummer.

Maybe one day they will get more creative and have local snacks specific to certain routes (sort of like they are trying to do with beer in the SCs), e.g. Tim Tams on Australia routes.

^ Actually, Tim Tams on all routes please.

IIRC, I have seen some "local" snacks in the DeltaOne snack basket.

I am looking forward to the honey roasted peanuts. And the yogurt bars. Pretzels are pretzels. And biscoff, well, we all know the pitchforks would have come out if they'd taken those away.
