My time is valuable, but not THIS kind of valuable!
Opted for a RT JFK-SFO, using remaining RUCs. Should be pretty painless, and at $400 or so for the ticket, saving enough ($1100!) to truly enjoy our few days there!

FO with MOL 8,000 MQMs to gold, 5 segments short (all booked already), my offer is

1k MQMs/3MQS for $495
2.5k MQM/6MQS for $795
5k MQM/9MQS for $995
7.5k MQM/12MQS for $1,195
10k MQM/15 MQS for $1,395

Three segments for $500 doesn't seem like a bad deal, it would be difficult to find three flights out of ATL in December for under $166 each. The tangible benefits don't justify it for me, I'd need a LOT of waived SDC and standby fees to justify $500.

Interesting that her offer and mine are so different.

Is she close to gold?

Quick question. I already have a Delta skymiles platinum card. If I get the reserve card (Not upgrade, but 2nd card) do I get the bonus mqm's still on first spend?

Nope - she is just short of MQMs to renew FO. She earns status on segments, though.

Sure glad in early November when it was clear it was likely my last flight of the because of Vacations planned and travel restrictions.

I needed 6288 miles to get to PM. I had to got to OMA and SFO. So I did a MSP-OMA-ATL-SFO-ATL-MSP trip. It put me at 75016.

Of course now they lighten on our restrictions and will be RT to SFO and PDX in December. Oh, well it will result in 6K rollover or more.

Those MQM purchase prices are high.

DM with 260,000 MQM. Surprisingly not eligible to participate. Would definitely be heading to SAN or LAS if I needed a run by year end.

Currently PM with 113,000 MQMs. Offered 10,000 MQM for $2,995. Way cheaper to just spend a couple weekends on the west coast (I'm NYC based). Glad I signed up for the reserve card.

And that 10k wouldn't even get you to DM, assuming you don't have any more flights!

Yeah, at these prices, if I really needed the miles, I'd just be going somewhere for a weekend.

If I was short a few miles for DM id probably just buy them. The thought of blowing a weekend unnecessarily traveling makes me sick.

I am a PM with 123,348 MQM and the AmEx waiver. (My flight Saturday will bump me over the threshold.) I got an e-mail from Delta yesterday pushing me toward this.

It's interesting that many of the offers have reasonable prices for higher numbers of MQMs, given than you're already purchasing some MQMs. For example, some of these price at about ten cents per MQM beyond 5,000 or 7,500. It's still more expensive than a decent MR, but if someone is purchasing miles anyway, it could make sense to buy the whole ten thousand if you can use the excess as rollover.

I'll end the year with enough MQMs for GM, but $505 MQD short. $495 + buying up to W on my next flight would do it... Awfully tempting, but still having a hard time justifying spending $500.

I don't often have the need to SDC and rarely check a bag, so for me the benefit would be hoping for increased upgrades. I'm 0/18 for F, 1/12 for W this year. No guarantee that being GM will actually improve my odds enough to actually get any upgrades, though.

ST Elite+ would be useful on my one trip to Mexico - it would save me the $29 guest fee to bring my FIL into the SkyClub.
