How are DL A330s?

Hi guys,

I saw that DL uses A330s on their NYC-CDG flights.
How are they?
I know they have some old from NW, and some brand new...

They've been refurbished and the business class cabin isn't bad, with the decent delta one lie flat seats. Modern amenities and entertainment system throughout the aircraft. As a passenger, you should have a comfortable ride.

Of course, the aircraft IS an Airbus so there is that to possibly consider.

There multiple threads on the A330. For D1 it's considered the best seat along with the 747.

Don't know where you get old from. The oldest is at most just turned 13 years old and most would be 9-13 range. They've also been upgraded since DL bought NW.

My last ride on the A330 was when the new biz seats were first introduced. They were great!

There are no separate subfleets of the A330. They are all configured exactly the same.

Yeah, I sure do enjoy the wider fuselage and quieter ride that comes with the Airbus experience.

Actually there are two A330 models in the fleet: A330-200 and A330-300. The D1 seats are the same but they are arranged slightly differently in the two models. There are fewer Y seats in the -200 model.

Yes, Delta's A330 fleet is standardized in seating in all cabins (Y, C+, J) aside from minor seating plan differences between the A332 and the A333.

As WWads points out, the Airbus A330 has a slightly wider fuselage than a 767 (although still narrower than a 777 or 747), which some people find more comfortable. Also, some people find Airbus cabins slightly quieter. Finally, the Airbus have an option to put a crew rest module below the main deck, which the 767's don't have (I believe). That lessens crew moving back and forth in the cabin.

Wider cabin on the 330 over the 767 is a negative. 2-3-2 will always be better than 2-4-2.

and till the mods are done, the legacy 32S fleet from NW being wider than a 737 doesn't mean anything, both still have 17 in seats. (post mod is 18 and it makes a difference for sure)

Oh and the 767 FA crew rest is below deck. The 7 76Ts are the only aircraft with pilot rests and those are in the main cabin.
