Sighting of Jet Blue and Allegiant Air Jets at Delta Corporate Ramp ATL

Flew into Atlanta on Friday (9/2/16) and noticed 1x Jet Blue and 1x Allegiant Air livery jets parked on the Delta corporate ramp (Northside of the field) and it looked like they were positioned in such a way for some marketing photographer to capture shots. Any idea why Jet Blue and Allegiant air would be parked at the Delta corporate ramp, surely it's not just 2 planes waiting for pickup following work at TechOps. Newest additions to SkyTeam coming in 2017?

What do you mean by corporate ramp? AKAIK most other airlines park on the north side when in ATL doing charter work (ie. flying a charter for a sports team)

Jet Blue 8501 was the UNC football team carter. Allegiant sometimes runs vacation charters at ATL, though I can't say for sure that's what this one was.

(Check the Twitter feed of UNC director of athletics https://twitter.com/BubbaUNC for a pic of what the OP saw, looks like it was taken from the vantage point of the Renaissance Hotel.)

ETA: Looks like this was the team's return to RDU after their loss to the Dawgs: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/J...240Z/KATL/KRDU

The north side is home to Signature FBO, available for all charter flights and not related to Delta in any way.

Delta does have facilities on the northwest part of the field, but Signature exists there independently.

Yah was going to say some kind of charters or similar. Likely not new partners.

Jet Blue was the UNC football team on a chartered flight. They parked at Signature. There was a Sun Country chartered flight from Biloxi, if I remember correctly, that parked there as well. Allegiant would've most likely been a chartered flight as well.

BumpMeVoucherMeATL, How you doing over there? Haven't seen since our run back from PHX late that night!

I'm guessing a lot of folks are excited that JetBlue is coming into ATL and that they are expediting their original roll-out schedule!

Perhaps this is indicative of a new codeshare with Allegiant, an "enhancement" of the new Basic Economy fare!
