5000 Bonus Miles for Buying C+
 

Booked a flight today ATL-JFK-ATL in main cabin. I am a FO. I declined the $30 ($15 each way) "upgrade" to C+, because even as a FO, I usually get a comp.

I then get an email from Delta saying that as a valued Amex customer, If I upgrade to C+ on my flights I will get a 5,000 skymiles bonus.

I figured for $30, guaranteed to pick my own seat, and 5,000 miles...why not?

Anyone else get this?

Yup, I got it a couple of days ago. I figure it's worth it, but I've been too lazy to go ahead and do it.

Now that would be a nice consolation for those middle seat upgrades!

So once again Delta is trying to take away what was a free perk to its Medallion members and monetize it by selling it at a discount.

I understand the philosophy of the pencil pushers and number crunchers, but wonder when the breaking point will come to the whole concept of loyalty.

I value Skymiles at 1.5 cents per mile. To me, 5,000 Skymiles is worth $75, so that's quite generous on Delta's part.

Delta used to have "middle seat Mondays", which I think was 500 miles to elites stuck in a middle seat on Monday. Maybe they still do.

What's the cheapest C+ <so-called> upgrade anyone has seen?

Paid $10 for one CMH-LGA.

Had offer of $13 for MCO-LAX. Price has climbed to $64 (flight is Sept 8).

Paid 15 each way for ATL-BWI Round Trip. And it was for my wife and myself so two seats.

The sooner people accept that there is no such thing as loyalty in corporate America, the better they will feel.

That's a heck of a deal for a TRANSCON

I currently have a $16 offer from SAN to YVR, but do not see 5K bonus.
