March 11th, 2016 JFK -> FRA D1 [Post 2/2]
Roasted Tenderloin Carpaccio:
"Orange Salad" (was odd), Potato Soup (bit bland, but good), nuts, pretzel roll:
Gulf Shrimp. These were *nasty*. Way overcooked, and tasted kind of like chlorine IMO:
Beef Shortrib. This was *much* better. Actually really really liked this one:
BYO sundae with a nice port for dessert:
Breakfast - Fruit, granola, milk, yogurt, cinnamon roll, OJ:

March 20th, 2016 AMS -> BOS D1
Menu:
Asparagus Salad with Smoked Salmon:
Shaved Fennel and Orange Salad with Red Lentil Soup. Soup was good. Salad was odd:
I wanted the Cod for my main, but they ran out. Got the Iberia Pork Tenderloin instead. Portion was small, was overcooked and very dry.. overall pretty disappointing. The tomatoes and peppers (not spicy) were good, and the quinoa was interesting too.
Dessert:
Mid-Flight warm chocolate chip cookie service... Soooooo awesome (glad I woke up for it!):
"Almost There" Fattoush Salad with grilled chicken:

April 23rd, 2016 SEA -> SAN in F. Asian Noodles with Pork I think?
Was a bit dried out (and some of the noodles were crunchy), but the flavors were good and this was a new dish for me!

The drink glasses look like a new shape....did this change or are my eyes fooling me? Usually all tumbler glasses were wider at the bottom.

DL430 JFK-SFO 5/25 (1hr to go if the flight map is to be believed; takeoff was delayed over an hour on account of ATC hold/low ceilings in SFO)
PDB: OJ or sparkling
FEBO: yes

If you like shaved Parmesan, there was a LOT of it. Nothing spectacular, although I do love hazelnuts (they were buried under the cheese)

I love the short rib but thought I'd try something different this time. I'd say 95% of the pasta came out nicely al dente. The other 5% had become dry and chewy. Spinach was a bit too salty, but overall this was decent.
Seatmate had the pork tenderloin but he seemed determined to be unhappy about every other aspect of the flight so I didn't ask him how it was.

OMG the salted caramel chocolate gelato is amazing ^

Just noticed this blurb at the bottom of the last page:
BE-DOM-JFK-LAX/SFO_Westbound_DW
I take this to mean that this menu is current as of last week (5/16), and that this is the menu for all westbound D1 dinner service flights. (JFK -> LAX or SFO)

So, flew SEA-KOA last night in F. I'll post pictures later, but want to find out if what I got was typical or a miscater. It's a 5:50p departure on a 2600 mile flight. By rule, it should be the domestic dinner. Instead, we got a snack -- a choice of hot turkey sandwich or cold salad with chicken. Sides with the sandwich were bag of chips, bowl of fruit and a brownie. With the salad, a package of crackers and the brownie. Basically, it's the same meal I've gotten on MSP-AUS on a CR9.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting D1 service. But I was expecting the usual rules. Is this normal for this route? For other US-Hawaii routes?

On SEA-AMS and this Delta One menu is pretty crappy.
Settling in only choice is salmon. Seriously has the person planning their menu never actually catered before? Fish as the only option for a course served to diverse guests is just ....ing stupid.
Starters are sugar snap pea salad, and sweet pea soup. Sounds meh.
Main courses are fine (lamb, chicken, tuna, pasta).
Seriously though, three transatlantic flights so far this year and first courses have sucked on all of them. Last year they seemed much better.
