Dynamic Pricing for Partner Awards

Maybe I missed this, but looks like there is now dynamic pricing on partner awards? VS used to always be either available at low level, or not available at all. Looks like now DL is inflating the miles required when VS award seats are available. Assuming this is not a glitch? For example a one-way JFK-LHR on June 8 is now 65,000 points in Y on VS. Looks like no increased availability, just increased miles required.

What's the evidence of dynamic partner award pricing versus just raising the price in miles for "low" partner award space?

I hope a low-level Y trip to Europe isn't 65,000 miles per way.

Isn't this slightly more than "low" in business class?

VS flights showing up for 47,500 one-way in Y on other dates.

OK, but your OP didn't mention that fact.

Yes it is; 62,500 is the current low-level one way J ticket to Europe.

See lots availability at 30K one-way in Aug on JFK-LHR, DTW-LHR, IAD-LHR, etc. Fare code YSM300.

July 14, one way, JFK-LHR:

DL401: Coach for 30,000 (N), Delta One for 62,500 (O).
DL402: Coach for 30,000 (N), Delta One for 80,000 (O).
VS26: Main Cabin for 47,500 (T), Business for 97,500 (G).
VS4: Main cabin for 47,500 (T), Business not available.

Seems clear that VS is pricing above low (T versus N and G versus both Os).

I separately found a VS round trip in August for 160,000 RT.

Recall that VS is a partner, but is not part of SkyTeam. So presumably not subject to the restriction to price only at "low."

Just as with DL (where N does not correspond to one mileage/fare code), T on VS does not correspond to a single mileage/fare code.

YSM300 = 30K miles
YSMM475 = 47.5K miles
YSMN550 = 55K miles
YSMO650 = 65K miles

Note the term "dynamic" pricing does not really seem to apply as I see no correlation with revenue prices (which is what most people mean by that term).

I just booked a BOS-LHR roundtrip in July for 60,000 miles, both legs on VS, and both legs booked into T.

Wasn't all this part of the rumored changes to award pricing that was to take effect on 6/6? There was little mention of it yesterday.

What rumors?

Dynamic award pricing for travel on or after June 1 has already been in effect for some time now.

And what is meant by "dynamic" pricing? There's nothing to back up the two most prevalent definitions -- award ticket prices somehow tied to the price of revenue tickets, or everyone getting different results for award prices based on some secret score or formula.

Delta announced changes to pricing would be made after that date but gave no specifics on what that meant. Dynamic pricing has already been in effect so what is changing exactly to the pricing model now?
