Registration link: https://delta.clearme.com/

Once registered to complete enrollment bring one state approved ID to the enrollment center. You will need a valid, unamended US passport or passport card, US-issued Permanent Resident Card, a valid US driver's license, state-issued photo ID card, or a military ID. Once your identity is verified, they will scan your finger prints and get a picture of your iris.

This process takes about 5-7 minutes and can be done before a flight.

Costs:
  • Diamond Medallion® members: Complimentary
  • Platinum, Gold and Silver Medallion members: $109 per year ($79 for those signed up before April 2019)
  • Delta AMEX primary card holders: $109 per year ($79 for those signed up before April 2019)
  • General SkyMiles Members: $119 per year ($99 for those signed up before April 2019)

Keep in mind Family add-on fee is just $50

You may also wish to peruse this thread in the Trusted Travelers forum: Is CLEAR worth $179 a year? (it goes beyond the question in the title, the answer to which is obviously "no" given the above pricing )

My quote does not mention 5:1 at all. I used 2:1 in my LGA line estimate. I have never seen Clear outnumber Non-Clear when I travel, but I imagine it could happen at certain times in certain markets.
When you show up at a line that is shorter than it would be, you don't care about who "cut" before you got there to make it shorter for you upon your arrival.

When you add more staff at the ID check step, you will process more people past that step per minute unless the Clear line has zero people.
It will always make the line faster for everyone, if properly executed.

Say they add a new lane to your morning commute highway, and you choose not to pay the toll to use that express lane.
Cars who do use it will pass you ("cutting the line"). But do you care? Nope. You should like it. Those cars are not adding to traffic in your free lanes, and you still have $3 in your pocket when you get there.
In the end the entire road is more efficient because people paid to build that extra lane... and use it.

Oh, and the LAX "celebrity" treatment escorting people to special places ... always "cutting" the line. No argument here. But that is an LAX thing, not a universal Clear thing.

I'm surprised there is a whole thread about this but I see it's turned into CLEAR vs. CLEAR for Delta Skymiles members.

CLEAR is for ID checks only. You skip folks in the regular line and because TSA Pre's queue is always longer, you skip many of them too. If they use the same people for them all (I wanna say like at BWI B checkpoint), you still skip a lot of people.

From there, you go into TSA Pre security line if you have it (I take out one laptop because I always have 2). Otherwise, take off your shoes and go into the regular security line.

CLEAR + Global Entry/Pre is the perfect combo.

Oh and non-CLEAR people are slowed down because CLEAR people jump in front of them.

At MSP, they shuffle 2 of each.

At LGA on Monday it was 1 clear to 1 non-clear let through the single ID check desk. The Clear employee directed traffic and made sure it stayed that ratio.

Last month at Regan, CLEAR wanted to charge me today at IAD CLEAR could not even find me and wanted to register me. I do not know why I bother esp since the PreCheck line was moving good at the time.

Wednesday in Atlanta I get to Clear Precheck line. The line has stretched out so far you have to go to the area across the hall and wait to even get on the same side as the security check.

I turn around and head to the TSA precheck line. I noticed that I got to the screeners before a man who I saw in line who had at least crossed from the overflow line across the hall when I started the process.

Apparently In Atlanta they can’t be cutting in front of you too fast.

Obviously i wont renew. Paying more to wait longer. Uh no! (And why did all of those people go to the long clear line? Precheck took under 5 minutes. Clear had to be taking 10 to 15)

Are you confusing the regular Clear lane with the Clear lane for PreCheck?. At ATL Clear has separate lanes for those with and those without PreCheck.

Nope! This was the Clear Pre-check line. the one that is RIGHT beside the TSA Pre-check line Clear's lines were significantly longer than the pre-check link without clear and significantly SLOWER !

The Clear line for "non pre check" is not even close to where I was so no clue what it might have been.

I sent a message to Clear. They acknowledged I was right and stated "they are working on it" Hmm... Since this has happened to me before I don't think they are working too hard LOL!

+1 on ATL's CLEAR+Pre lines being ridiculous lately. It also appears that they closed the Pre lanes on the North side (at least, they didn't exist the last time I tried), so now all Pre is usually compressed over to those couple conveyor bin lanes in the glass tunnel (which compound the problem by slowing down screening itself).

The difference is CLEAR will always be stuck with just its two lanes. At really busy times they will expand non-CLEAR pre into additional screening lanes within the main area. So non-CLEAR can adjust for capacity, while CLEAR cannot. Add in a rush period and the result is obvious.

Just forget CLEAR at ATL and check in at International if you can be dropped off there.
Pre-Check at International is open 0630-0930 and 1230-1730
Two bag screening belts and both are often empty midday Friday afternoons when I am most often there.

Agree ATL is absurd lately. I wish they would add clear at ORD, precheck lines are absurd there, hopefully once DL moves to Terminal 5 they will have a clear lane there, would love to see it at EWR as well.

Clear is great at JFK, LGA and LAS, I never have an issue with lines there.

It's good at MSP, too. Sometimes there are lines, but they move quickly.

it’s recently been amazing at the right side checkpoints in MSP recently. I’m having a ton of D and low C flights for some reason.

Do they still have everybody walk past the dog before splitting out CLEAR, Pre-Check, etc.?

Ive only seen that in the early morning, and not in a few months. I’ve had great luck with marching right up to the kiosks at MSP north checkpoint Clear.
