I don't think there's any chance of 1-2 FC

Yup. Cabin cross section is about 6" wider than an MD 90. Should be pretty comfortable in F configured 2-2.

What's the range on these things? Could see there being a play here for RDU on longer, thinner routes (SEA, LAX, and SLC, perhaps even MSP, AUS, and a new couple of routes if range allows).

Could potentially allow them to downgauge but add frequency and also open new routes

Bombardier claims range to YVR, Cabo, and Quito from NYC.

I believe it's mentioned up-thread that Delta needs to keep average stage length under 1,000 miles or pay a surcharge to BBD.

I would be very surprised if DL had to pay that surcharge in the end. I could easily see it being waived.

It might be waived if that additional range leads to DL buying more jets. But I don't see why Bombardier would just give it away for free with nothing in return. They still are a for-profit business.

That’s my point.

At 2,128nm, 2,028nm, and 2,450nm each, they are well within the 3,100 nm range of the CS100. If the 1,000 mile stage length exists, I think DL will eventually strike a deal with Bombardier to drop it.

I'm hoping Bombardier just pays the exit penalty to Airbus. They don't need them anymore since the tariff was dropped. The C Seies is a great plane and will be just fine without Airbus.

Come on. I'm a Montreal native and huge supporter of Bombardier. But BBD has managed to sell exactly zero C-Series planes in 2018, and only 12 planes in 2017. They only got the DL deal because they sold each of those planes below cost (hard to make money that way). Bombardier wouldn't even be operating today if the govt didn't give them emergency loans.

The facts do not support your claim. I mean, not even close.

If Bombardier is insolvent then they should have been put up for sale to the highest bidder. Anything should be considered fraud by the shareholders.

The C-Series program has officially been renamed the A220-100 and A220-300.

As an aside....didn't Boeing just buy 80% of Embraer?

Yeah! Just like when Ford was all allowed to go under and sold off to Toyota!

What in the world are you talking about? The government bailed out GM, not Ford. And I'm on record here saying GM should have been allowed to fail.
