This guy was feeling quite at home this evening at the lounge in JFK's T2.

Classé

Should probably be merged with the "Disgusting" megathread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/delta...assengers.html

Maybe he thought he was in the SkyClub at Fort Lauderdale!

Indeed.

Primitive... but not as bad as folks who use the airplane lavs in their bare feet.

I flew LAX-MSP two weeks ago. Cleared FC three days before departure(GM). The woman next to me once she sat down removed her shocks and shoes. Also every 30 minutes reapplied a smelly lotion. Wish they would make an announcement Shoes must remain on at all times!!!!

What about people who wear flip flops? I don't. Just curious. I'm certainly not a clothing snob, but, I've seen some NASTY feet in flip flops!

:D

I always wonder how the JNB-ATL flight is with this issue. I've never seen so many pax with bare feet at their seats as I did when flying in South Africa.

I'm not sure why anyone would want to walk around on those nasty floors with bare feet.

The Situation Apr 26, 2016 11:20 am

Last time I flew to Europe, the guy sitting next to me promptly removed his shoes and socks as soon as were in the air. Couple hours into the flight, nature called and about 30 seconds later, he returned after making the determination the liquid on the floor of the bathroom probably wasn't water. Sheepishly, he asked his wife for his shoes, which she passed over me. Gross.

As nasty as it is, taking your shoes off in the plane can be rationalized because your feet can swell up during a long flight. But doing that at the lounge...?

danielonn Apr 26, 2016 1:18 pm

I will put on the airline socks I saved from a previous trip(I wash it before I leave) and then put on slippers I got from a hotel. I never would imagine going into the airline bathroom with those slippers though. I also don't like it when people feel its ok to take their shoes and socks off on the plane.

There should be a code of conduct when flying like when you are at a bookstore etc.

I feel it's acceptable to take off ones shoes during a flight -- especially long haul flights. But that said, this ain't nam so there's gotta be some rules:

1) You may take off your shoes but you may not take off your socks. If you are not wearing any socks your shoes/sandals must stay on at all times unless you immediately and expeditiously put on travel socks that were provided in the amenity pack.

2) While your shoes are off your feet must remain on the floor at all times. Do not put them on the bulkhead, the seat back, the arm rest, and definitely by no means on tray table or the IFE.

3) If a visit to the galley or lavatory is in order you best be prepared to put your shoes back on prior to leaving your seat.

4) Shoes must remain on during takeoff and landing. If there is an emergency incident during takeoff or landing, I will not play the game where you delay everyone else from an expeditious evacuation just because you're shoeless.

I do the same thing here. I have a couple old sets of the DL TPAC slippers and keep them in my roll aboard for those long flights when I know I want my shoes off and/or will be in lie-flat....but then those are my rapid access lav shoes and if i have to walk to the galley or something.
