The following website seems to allow you to preview the menu options ahead of time: http://cloud.o.delta.com/fltInfo

The Delta App lets you pre-select meals 7 days prior to departure. You may or may not receive an email around the same time (it's inconsistent whether you even receive an email). On the "MY TRIPS" tab, any eligible trip in the list will have a SELECT YOUR ENTREE button; this also appears if you tap on a trip and are viewing the individual trip details. The app is able to handle selections for multiple passengers traveling on the same record (i.e. you will be able to make selections on behalf of traveling companions)

Sample screenshot:

PRE-COVID: If you don't get the email, or only one of multiple passengers receives the email*, you can ask a phone or Twitter/FB agent for the choices, and they can make your selection up until T-24h (not all agents are sharp about this, so you may need to explain that you want to pre-order a regular meal, *not* one of the special vegetarian/Kosher meals etc. HUCA as needed) Nowadays it is unclear if agents can even still do this (or if just the average phone/chat agent does not know how to do so anymore)

*If this happens, double check that you have an email address (for each passenger) in the reservation. (But this can happen at random anyway even if you do have an email address listed.)

I've had it before. It's good. Delta's salmon and halibut are generally good.

DELTA BLUES BREAKFAST RICE PUDDING

CHALLAH BREAD PUDDING

Since when is rice pudding an entree? I know breakfast meals have always been lacking, but yhis just seems cheap.

I would probably think of it as a spin on oatmeal. Starchy grain soaked in liquid.

I had salmon ex-JFK earlier this year that was actually excellent. Had some kind of sweet chili aioli and a bunch of other stuff. OTOH, I had a bouillabaisse last year that was so-so.

The cod is pretty good, too. When I was flying STX and STT twice a month in 2016 and 2017, the mahi mahi or red snapper (locally sourced, I believe, by the STT/STX caterers) was always hands-down delicious.

Are domestic D1 flights (JFK-LAS) also able to preselect meals?

I have to agree while the STT airport is not exactly wonderful, the catering was always excellent.

Second, the menu that was sent to me is quite underwhelming (upcoming LAX-PVG), and lacks detail so I was wondering if anyone had any feedback on the following options that we have?

Marinated Braised Meatballs with Garlic bread, ricotta, and tomato sauce.
BBQ Chicken w/ Mac & Cheese w/ swiss chard.
Roasted Spare Rib w/ green onion, rice, and veggie.
Fontina & Parmesan Lasagna w/ pomodoro sauce.
Marinated Shrimp with Polenta, and watercress
This is the Jon and Vinny menu out of LAX. I've had the Meatballs and the Lasagna and both are quite delicious.

The Lasagna's presentation to me left some to be desired but it still tasted delish. Also had Jon and Vinny lunch from LAX to JFK (Braised chicken tacos) and the chicken was also really tasty

I've got a Delta 1 flight from DTW-AMS coming up. One of the options that is calling my name is the crab cakes. Anyone tried that?

I had the crab cakes on a relatively recent tpa-msp flight in F and if it's anything like those they are pretty delicious.

Anyone know the answer? I got the email to select my entree. When I go to the website link and select, I get another page saying "We're sorry, We've experienced an unexpected error. Please try calling the below number to speak to a reservation specialist for assistance." The problem is when I call, the people (including a supervisor) told me there is no way for them to select the entree. And that I just have to wait until I'm on the plane.

Is that true?

Meal Selection now available for D1 on "select" domestic flights

Traveling JFK-SEA this Saturday 9/8 confirmed in Delta One a few weeks back.

Received email today from Delta inviting me to select my entree up to 24 hours before my flight. Quote:

"We want you to have the best experience on board, so we’re launching a new program on select flights for valued Delta One customers that allows you to select your entrée before your upcoming flight.
We invite you to view the menu and select your meal up to 24 hours before departure."

On a side note, the breakfast entree choices are pretty underwhelming. Fall Veggie frittata, Delta blues rice pudding, or Challah bread pudding.
Has anyone had any of these entrees? Any comments??

Sounds like a glitch. I flew SEA - JFK in D1 on Sunday and was able to preselect my meal after I got the email. The funny thing was, my wife and I picked the Truffle Ravioli, got on board and it wasn't on the menu so we chose another entree, only to find out that when the FA checked, they didn't have anything that was on the menu, but in fact did have our preselected entree's. Others weren't as lucky though.

In that case it could be that they just had the wrong menus loaded on board, but the menu you had ordered from online was the correct one and that's why the food they had loaded matched what you had seen online. I've a few times been on Delta flights where they had loaded the wrong paper menus onto the plane but it would take a much bigger screw-up to load the wrong meals.

That's what I thought too and what I chalked it up to having happened. However, the FA stated that these were the new menus and they were told they were correct. At the end of the day, there are worst problems to have in D1....like running out of Woodford...
