Skymiles trip changed by DL. Can I change cities?

I booked front cabin (R) CVG to DEN to CVG using skymiles (June 4(DL4503) to June 11(DL4503)). I booked it because it was direct and has a meal on both flights.
DL now informs me they changed flights to CVG-MSP-DEN and DEN-ATL-CVG.

Since I live in SDF, do you think DL will allow me to change to SDF-DEN and still use the same number of Skymiles to fly in First Cabin?

I only booked out of CVG due to the excellent flights they offered. I think this is probably a further reduction of CVG flights (which is rather sad).

DL is only obligated to rebook you to the same city pairs on the same dates if your departure or arrival time has changed by more than 60 minutes.

That said, if SDF-DEN is available for the same number of miles, you *might* be able to get a friendly agent who will reticket you and waive the change fee, despite it being a different city pair. However, they are not required to accommodate a change of city so be aware that you're asking for a favor.

I wouldn't bet on being able to change to SDF either, though you have nothing to lose by calling and asking. Since you were switched from a non-stop to a connection, you should be able to get your miles refunded for no penalty. You could then use those miles to book a ticket from SDF at low cost if it's available.

I would call in and be honest and tell them you live in SDF but you were willing to drive to CVG to get a non-stop flight. Now that the non-stop is not available could you please switch me to leaving out of SDF. Especially since the AM MSP/CVG flights have no F cabin you may have some decent luck.

But the CVG/DEN cxld is more likely as it was Saturday and many Saturday flights get the axe if they aren't booked as much as DL thinks it should be with 4-6 months to go until the flight.
