Lounge access?
My wife and I are traveling to SYD on DL metal in EC. We both have DL Reserve cards and I am PM. Will we have access in SYD?

Looks like it. The Skyteam lounge in Sydney is quite nice, self serve beverages... ;)
Pretty quiet when I was there a couple of months ago, less than two years old so it isn't all jaded yet. http://www.skyteam.com/en/Why-SkyTea...Access-Policy/ •SkyTeam Elite Plus members, regardless of their travel class, are allowed access to a SkyTeam lounge at a particular airport if traveling on or connecting to/from a same-day international flight operated by a SkyTeam member airline. Simply present your same-day ticket for an international SkyTeam airline flight and a valid Elite Plus membership card. In addition, SkyTeam Elite Plus members are allowed to invite a guest, who is also traveling on a flight operated by a SkyTeam member airline, to join them in the lounge. The guest does not necessarily need to travel on the same flight as the SkyTeam Elite Plus member. Don't know if the Reserve card access applies to Skyteam lounges. http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_...-of-terms.html Delta Reserve Credit Card Member: Delta Reserve Credit Cardholders traveling on a Delta coded or Delta operated flight. |

What matters at SYD is the bilateral partnership agreement between VA and DL. IIRC PM/DM get lounge access, but I'm not sure about the guest. Reserve card only matters for SC access. |

Irrelevant. VA isn't a SkyTeam member.

IIRC between the partnership with VA, people used the Kiwi (NZ) Koro lounge. |

Don't DL passengers at SYD generally use the VA lounge? Or am I thinking of those with domestic connections within Australia?

There is a relatively new Skyteam lounge at Terminal 1 on the departure level at Pier B. I was there last month.

Do you mean joint alliance lounge (like LHR, for example) or a lounge operated by a member of SkyTeam?

"Additional SkyTeam Elite Plus Benefits for Diamond, Platinum, and Gold Medallion Members •Lounge Access—Complimentary access to most SkyTeam lounges worldwide when traveling internationally in any class of service. Simply present your same-day ticket for an international or connecting SkyTeam flight. You can even invite a guest to join you in the lounge." |

A lot depends on the airport layout and whether security will allow you to get to the door of the lounge. I think DL and VA have an arrangement, but this could have changed when the new SkyTeam lounge opened.
