Can a RUC be applied to DL Amex Companion Certificate ticket?

My searchfu is weak today and couldn't find an answer on google or flyertalk. Does anyone have the answer to this? What fare class is a companion certificate ticket?

Nope. It's basically in the T&C's (they still say SWU's, but it's fair to assume it also applies to RUC's) --

http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_...tificates.html

"Tickets are not eligible for mileage upgrades, Systemwide Upgrade Certificates, or Medallion Complimentary upgrades."

Thanks, should have known and read the T&C's more carefully.

And even worse, if you are flying after May 15, then you won't be eligible or allowed to select a Comfort+ seat when using the Amex cert even if both you and your companion are DMs.

They have updated the wording in our favor:
https://www.delta.com/us/en/booking-...n-certificates

Beginning April 6, 2017, Medallion Members traveling with one companion will be eligible for Complimentary Upgrades to both First Class and Delta Comfort+ based on the Status of the higher-tiered Member, as long as the companion is a General SkyMiles Member, Medallion Member or partner airline elite member, traveling in the same reservation. Tickets are eligible for Global or Regional Upgrade Certificates but are not eligible for mileage upgrades.

Yes, indeed, in the past year I have been able to use RUCs for Amex companion ticket upgrades to domestic Delta One. Very nice!

Just did this over the weekend, can confirm it works. However, on the outbound leg we weren't upgraded since when she called in to order the flights the DM line didn't put me on as the companion properly. Even though I'm GM, it didn't show on reservation, so we left ATL no 1 and 2 without being upgraded. Flight back from PDX we did get the upgrade though (she had called to sort out why we didn't get it on the way out).

LBJ's post was from 2016. It was correct at the time of posting.
