Delta's Operational move from T5 to T2/3 at LAX:

Delta has moved to: T2 and T3 with eventual connector to TBIT (note: there is currently only airside bus service to stay securely between T2 & T3, the walking connector has not been built yet.)

Where to check bags: As of January 13, 2020, non-Sky Priority customers must check their bag(s) at the terminal their flight departs from, unless their flight departs from TBIT, in which case, they must check their bag at Terminal 2. Sky priority customers can check their bag at either terminal. See this link for more information.

Date(s) of move: May 12, 2017 - May 17, 2017

Here is a helpful chart from Delta which covers all Domestic / Int'l. transfer combos (AND TOTAL TRANSFER TIMES) between T2, T3 & TBIT.

New Bus Routes will help with connections:
- Circular Airfield Bus between TBIT, T2 and T3
- Airfield Bus between T2 and T3

Bus Map

Will there be a SkyClub: Yes, there is one in each terminal. Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse will remain.
- The SkyClub in T2 opened on May 20th (Former AC Maple Leaf Lounge)
pix in post 1058
- The SkyClub in T3 opened on May 24th (Former VX Loft)

https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...d-updates.html

Where Will The Delta One Check In Lounge Be Located:

Delta will temporarily offer dedicated check-in space in Terminal 2 (first door closest to T1) while a long-term Delta One experience is finalized.
In T2, there is a small Delta One seating area with refreshments. An agent will escort you from the check in/lounge area through a back pathway up stairs to TSA precheck. Its a shorter walk to check-in at SkyPriority and easier if you have a carry on and don't want to drag it up a flight of stairs. 11/3/17)

Airlines joining DL in T2/3 for landside and departures:
- AeroMexico (T2)
- Virgin Atlantic (T2)
- WestJet (T3)

Landside T2 only, departures from TBIT:
- Virgin Australia
- Volaris

Landside T3 only, departures from TBIT:
- Avianca/Taca
- Copa (effective April 7)
- InterJet

Will there be secure links between T2-T3 and TBIT: Yes, the final plan is to let pax walk between all airside.

Does “Delta One at LAX” save any time, other than maybe a shorter line to check baggage? Is it the same security lines as non-Delta One?

T2 security or TBIT transit security? Clubhouse or Sky Club

Adding on this question I tried asking on the Security/LAX forum, but maybe my question wasnt framed well and the response didnt help. So will try here
Im arriving at TBIT on Tgiving Wed morning on the VA flight from SYD scheduled in at 605, connecting to the DL DCA flight at 820.
I have GE, PRECHEK, and Clear and am flying D1 and will be carrying on my bag and sitting in 1A on the VA flight. Not really worried about making the connection. But avoiding TSA craziness keeps me saner and Im guessing that even with Clear and Prechek, T2 TSA will be crazy that morning.
Thoughts from those with more experience does it make sense for me to use the transit security, even though it will be Prechek light and then walk the length of TBIT to the bus for T2?
Also, I have Priority Pass so can access the VS club or the Sky Club in T2. Recommendations? I know this has only been an option for the last few days, but has anyone used the Clubhouse since it became available in mornings for PP.
Thanks. Happy Tgiving.

Just stick to CLEAR (in either terminal 2 or 3), all things considered its probably the only line that will be a <15 min wait (when you factor in the escalator upto security as well)

As far as D1 at LAX goes, given the new area is still being built (I believe) they're still using kiosks similar to SP. So yeah, other than to drop some bags there isn't much of a point atm

In regards to clubs, I've said this a million times already and I'll say it again --@loungebuddy is an absolutely indispensable app for me. It just is perfect for cases like these and will have all the lounges, with pictures, and their access policies laid out for you.

I don't think you can get into the SCs though with priority pass. Though this isn't much of a loss. Given how the lounges still are a WIP despite being open (especially T3), you really won't be missing out on much.

So with that said, the VS club probably would be your best bet and is imo at least for now a better club anyway.

Happy travels!

The D1 check-in/baggage drop area looks like it's complete, as there's now a separate "lounge" area with seating and refreshments. The night before our departure, Delta also sent an email stating that they had representatives to take D1 passengers to the front of the security line, but we ended up not needing it.

I got an email the day before reminding me of D1 checkin for my LAX-DCA flight today. It is at the first door of T2, so coming from TBIT, you walk past all of T3 and T2 to get there. This morning at about 7:00 am, there were two people in line before me and one agent. I specifically requested the 'walk to the head of the security line service' and the agent didn't know what I was talking about - she went behind the scenes and a supervisor type (not a uniformed agent) came out and told her the contract access checkers who let you in to the D1 area would take me past all the lines - one of them did, and it was fine.
I also used my free PP to access the VAtlantic Clubhouse -- not crowded at all, but very limited food and beverage options. Didn't matter to me since I'd had a very good breakfast on the VA 1 in business class.

When did VS Clubhouse join PP? I've never seen it open in the morning much less available for PP.

I first saw mention of this a couple days ago in the WN forum thread on PP:

Using Priority Pass when flying WN

limited hours.

Maybe a week ago -- I downloaded the new PP list to the app before flying back from NZ and it was there -- mornings only for PP and as I noted, very limited food -- not the VS Clubhouse experience, not even the DL Skyclub experience, but not crowded.

Groan. I am just up for OKC-ATL-LAX-SYD-AKL and the Flight Update app claims DL #41 departs today from TBIT #133 .

Apparently I am coming in to T2 and will have to bus it to TBIT, but is it the case that I am stuck with the Korean Airlines lounge? There is no hope of getting anything else I suppose with a PL AMEX and PP flying DL D1 (I lost VA due to their catering issues but I would have gotten into the Emirates lounge). I am flying VA biz SYD-AKL but I doubt that would mean anything to Emirates.

Oh well, maybe I will get some work done if I can find an actual work station.

How long is the connection? Since your inbound is coming into T2, I'd hang out in the SkyClub there as long as possible before going to TBIT to catch the SYD flight.

It is a long layover (3.5 hour if on schedule), but I have a phobia about not being near the departure gate especially if the trail from arrival to departure is complicated. Still, if these gates remain unchanged staying at T2 makes a lot of sense.

According to the DL app there is a SC at TBIT South Side Wing - on 4th floor - Room 4615. When looking at the map it shows the AA Admirals Club at TB near gate 53B.

Can someone tell me what this lounge is and how this lounge compares to the KAL lounge at TBIT?

After seeing the thread about fruit flies in T3 lounge, I am hoping DL #2984 uses T2.

TBIT has no SC, only KAL lounge. The app shows all partner lounges, not just SC.

Gate 53B is in Terminal 5, not TBIT. The Admirals Club located near there is in the space that was formerly the Delta SkyClub.

I was just reporting what I saw this morning in the DL app.

So to my original query, is it a consensus that the SC in T2 is better than KAL lounge at TBIT?

Edited to say that my iOS app Flight Update has been saying depature at TBIT gate #133 all day. However, using the DL app for flight status it says gate #133 T2. That is confusing for someone who has not gone through the new layout at LAX.
