Delta's Operational move from T5 to T2/3 at LAX:

Delta has moved to: T2 and T3 with eventual connector to TBIT (note: there is currently only airside bus service to stay securely between T2 & T3, the walking connector has not been built yet.)

Where to check bags: As of January 13, 2020, non-Sky Priority customers must check their bag(s) at the terminal their flight departs from, unless their flight departs from TBIT, in which case, they must check their bag at Terminal 2. Sky priority customers can check their bag at either terminal. See this link for more information.

Date(s) of move: May 12, 2017 - May 17, 2017

Here is a helpful chart from Delta which covers all Domestic / Int'l. transfer combos (AND TOTAL TRANSFER TIMES) between T2, T3 & TBIT.

New Bus Routes will help with connections:
- Circular Airfield Bus between TBIT, T2 and T3
- Airfield Bus between T2 and T3

Bus Map

Will there be a SkyClub: Yes, there is one in each terminal. Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse will remain.
- The SkyClub in T2 opened on May 20th (Former AC Maple Leaf Lounge)
pix in post 1058
- The SkyClub in T3 opened on May 24th (Former VX Loft)

https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...d-updates.html

Where Will The Delta One Check In Lounge Be Located:

Delta will temporarily offer dedicated check-in space in Terminal 2 (first door closest to T1) while a long-term Delta One experience is finalized.
In T2, there is a small Delta One seating area with refreshments. An agent will escort you from the check in/lounge area through a back pathway up stairs to TSA precheck. Its a shorter walk to check-in at SkyPriority and easier if you have a carry on and don't want to drag it up a flight of stairs. 11/3/17)

Airlines joining DL in T2/3 for landside and departures:
- AeroMexico (T2)
- Virgin Atlantic (T2)
- WestJet (T3)

Landside T2 only, departures from TBIT:
- Virgin Australia
- Volaris

Landside T3 only, departures from TBIT:
- Avianca/Taca
- Copa (effective April 7)
- InterJet

Will there be secure links between T2-T3 and TBIT: Yes, the final plan is to let pax walk between all airside.

no joy, but I did get asked if I want to volunteer; went into my profile and re-entered TTN; went back to the PNR, clicked "Change Flight" and got "No available flights" (even though the website will sell me an A seat on either of the two later flights; go figure); still no joy

it's probably SSSS time

Is this an award ticket, or one you redeemed with a certificate? If so, does your name 100% exactly match (including middle name)?

I keep having trouble with Delta auto-populating my name without my middle name, which is almost a guarantee of good ol' SSSS... I mostly bring it up because if you catch it now, you can at least get it fixed and avoid the hassle on your return leg.

purchased as a one-way about 10 days ago (on app or website, I forget which), but using all stored personal and KTN info as well as credit card ... the only time I've experienced a TSA hiccup for either domestic or intl travel in the past couple years was on a T-3 hr SDC

UPDATE: tried the Change Flights button on the desktop version of the website again, got the same "no available flights" message, but this time the BP generated with Pre

re SDC. Call. Online is known for not showing options available, especially if on an F/J ticket where same fare class isn't needed.

thanks for the sage advice about what I should have done last November

furthermore, how do you know the absence of TSA Pre on that BWI-ATL segment had anything to do with the mechanism by which I SDC'd?

I'll have access to the VS T2 lounge (as flying SFO-MAN VS J later same day).
I am aware of the opening hours.

Initial thought is to clear TSA Pre at T2, enjoy the VS lounge a bit, and then shuttle bus to T3 for DL departure from gate 30.
Thinking will take 15 minutes from leaving VS T2 lounge to walking up on T3 gate 30.
About right?

How about you read what i wrote and what you wrote. I never brought up Pre, I simply replied about SDC, in response to your repeated posts about SDC issue. If didn't want to discuss incident then why'd you post about it? This is a discussion board, not a blog.

Also your previous post indicated this was recent, not back in November. Ie ticket was purchased only 10 days ago.

Your response just comes across bizarre

I suggest you start reading the subthread beginning with post 989 forward for context, and then re-evaluate which one of you posted something bizarre.

i.e. the whole point of this conversation was jrl767 not getting Pre. He later added, conversationally, that the only previous time he failed to get Pre, was after a T-3 SDC (and he said this once since #989 , not "repeated")

You then replied giving him advice about SDC as if it was a contemporaneous problem, apparently not understanding that it was merely an background detail.

You make a lot of great contributions to FT, but sometimes I think you would benefit from slowing down a bit and paying more attention to detail (not just the myriad typos/autocorrect damage). It's not a race

@Zorak- thanks for covering for me while I was enjoying my Woodfords at FL360 ^

@flyerCO- what Zorak said: please take a minute or two to understand context before firing off a response that's only partially relevant

this thread is about DL in T2/3 at LAX ... my post was about not having Pre today for my first DL departure from LAX since the move; I was hoping for some insight re wait times, but that ultimately was a non-issue ... BenA mentioned various reasons for missing Pre, hence the (admittedly peripheral) relevance of my "only missed on a T-3 SDC" ...

I replied to your complaint about SDC only, a complaint you had raised twice in a row. Where the context seems to be missed is what i was replying to. If you read the quoted message, NOTHING in there indicates this being a previous trip from November. It was also the 2nd time in a row you had complained about SDC. Neither time did Novemver come up. Please show me where i missed the facts about November. Much less if i had, complaining twice in a row about SDC seems to make it worth giving a reply.

Agreed, there's nothing mentioned about November that I saw either until the sarcastic rolling eyes emoji post - confused me as well.

I did start there. He starts out about Pre. Then in his next replies adds issues about SDC. If he didn't want to discuss SDC, then why bring it up? He brought up the issue, i replied. Also this was supposedly about a ticket bought 10 days ago. How does it then become November?

For typos I'm sorry, i have a worthless S7, edge version. It sees my finger holding on the edge as I'm trying to type. This causes it to not understand what I'm typing. Also for some reason (they haven't figured out why) my auto correct/spell checker doesn't work. I try and get all the typos, but there's just too many or easily overlooked because so small. Can't wait for my new phone. Should've never taken the free upgrade to the Edge version.

jeez ... yeah I said I clicked "Change Flight" ... mnnp posted that redoing check-in resends TSA info; I cancelled out of the "Change Flight" function without actually rebooking, and the system generated a new BP (first time still w/o Pre, but got it on the second try a couple hours later)

bad on me for not explicitly saying that I was trying to force a new check-in, not actually trying to SDC; would have avoided this entire back-and-forth

once more, with feeling: it's NOT NECESSARY to comment on EVERYTHING

and now back to our regularly scheduled discussion of LAX T2/T3
