Delta's Operational move from T5 to T2/3 at LAX:
Delta has moved to: T2 and T3 with eventual connector to TBIT (note: there is currently only airside bus service to stay securely between T2 & T3, the walking connector has not been built yet.)
Where to check bags: As of January 13, 2020, non-Sky Priority customers must check their bag(s) at the terminal their flight departs from, unless their flight departs from TBIT, in which case, they must check their bag at Terminal 2. Sky priority customers can check their bag at either terminal. See this link for more information.
Date(s) of move: May 12, 2017 - May 17, 2017
Here is a helpful chart from Delta which covers all Domestic / Int'l. transfer combos (AND TOTAL TRANSFER TIMES) between T2, T3 & TBIT.
New Bus Routes will help with connections:
- Circular Airfield Bus between TBIT, T2 and T3
- Airfield Bus between T2 and T3
Bus Map
Will there be a SkyClub: Yes, there is one in each terminal. Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse will remain.
- The SkyClub in T2 opened on May 20th (Former AC Maple Leaf Lounge)
pix in post 1058
- The SkyClub in T3 opened on May 24th (Former VX Loft)

Where Will The Delta One Check In Lounge Be Located:
In T2, there is a small Delta One seating area with refreshments. An agent will escort you from the check in/lounge area through a back pathway up stairs to TSA precheck. Its a shorter walk to check-in at SkyPriority and easier if you have a carry on and don't want to drag it up a flight of stairs. 11/3/17)
Airlines joining DL in T2/3 for landside and departures:
- AeroMexico (T2)
- Virgin Atlantic (T2)
- WestJet (T3)
Landside T2 only, departures from TBIT:
- Virgin Australia
- Volaris
Landside T3 only, departures from TBIT:
- Avianca/Taca
- Copa (effective April 7)
- InterJet
Will there be secure links between T2-T3 and TBIT: Yes, the final plan is to let pax walk between all airside.

Got an e-mail communication from Delta titled "What's New In Your Club" with the same blurb as posted here:
https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...d-updates.html
The e-mail also says "Enjoy the Club before your next flight:" with specific reference to a LAX itinerary I have on the 18th, so they may have targeted it to, or at least personalized it for, people flying through LAX around that time period.

Has there been any word on whether the lounges will be more on par with TBIT lounges or the current T5 one?

I also got the club email. They missed my ATL layover from SCL next Tuesday and went with my June flight to FCO via ATL. I do not get to LAX until late Nov so nothing about LAX or other hubs like SLC.

Delta has a lot of experience putting lipstick on pigs when it comes to terminals. However, while there is some interim sprucing up prior to the reconstruction/renovation that could help, T3 will be like T3 until the work is complete around 2023.

Don't know how much more lipstick DL can put on T3. LAWA recently replaced the carpet and old tile and replaced it with new carpet. I know that Shake Shack is coming to T3 but there is not much other consesion space in T3 for DL to bring

Well DL currently operates LAX-DEN/SFO/PDX/and SEA from 4 gates in T6 at LAX. I suppose in addition to the 4 T6 flights that SAN/OAK/SJC/LAS/PHX/and SMF could all use T3. WS will also use T3 and will probably take up 2 gates at the most.

Only 12 T3 gates have a jetbridge.
The 13th gate is gate 39, which Google Maps shows, has no jetbridge.
Sure doesn't like any T3 gate could handle a 767, 777, or 330. The smart money is on regional jets plus 717s all in T3.
