Delta's Operational move from T5 to T2/3 at LAX:

Delta has moved to: T2 and T3 with eventual connector to TBIT (note: there is currently only airside bus service to stay securely between T2 & T3, the walking connector has not been built yet.)

Where to check bags: As of January 13, 2020, non-Sky Priority customers must check their bag(s) at the terminal their flight departs from, unless their flight departs from TBIT, in which case, they must check their bag at Terminal 2. Sky priority customers can check their bag at either terminal. See this link for more information.

Date(s) of move: May 12, 2017 - May 17, 2017

Here is a helpful chart from Delta which covers all Domestic / Int'l. transfer combos (AND TOTAL TRANSFER TIMES) between T2, T3 & TBIT.

New Bus Routes will help with connections:
- Circular Airfield Bus between TBIT, T2 and T3
- Airfield Bus between T2 and T3

Bus Map

Will there be a SkyClub: Yes, there is one in each terminal. Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse will remain.
- The SkyClub in T2 opened on May 20th (Former AC Maple Leaf Lounge)
pix in post 1058
- The SkyClub in T3 opened on May 24th (Former VX Loft)

https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...d-updates.html

Where Will The Delta One Check In Lounge Be Located:

Delta will temporarily offer dedicated check-in space in Terminal 2 (first door closest to T1) while a long-term Delta One experience is finalized.
In T2, there is a small Delta One seating area with refreshments. An agent will escort you from the check in/lounge area through a back pathway up stairs to TSA precheck. Its a shorter walk to check-in at SkyPriority and easier if you have a carry on and don't want to drag it up a flight of stairs. 11/3/17)

Airlines joining DL in T2/3 for landside and departures:
- AeroMexico (T2)
- Virgin Atlantic (T2)
- WestJet (T3)

Landside T2 only, departures from TBIT:
- Virgin Australia
- Volaris

Landside T3 only, departures from TBIT:
- Avianca/Taca
- Copa (effective April 7)
- InterJet

Will there be secure links between T2-T3 and TBIT: Yes, the final plan is to let pax walk between all airside.

Anybody know the TBIT shuttle frequency and location?

I'm trying to imagine how much signage and added security it entails - unless a dedicated and secure entry/exit to concourses already exists.

Theoretically, you could transit from UA Club in T7 to any DL gate using a trifecta of tunnels, bridges and shuttle. Might take 45 minutes.

I guess it's good to know about this escape route when you're afraid of getting beaten by UA

All the terminals already have airside bus stops, there won't be any need to reclear security when using the shuttles. Last I checked, the TBIT bus stop was in the old wing at the far end of the north concourse. The TBIT-T4 connector was supposed to include an airside bus stop, but I'm not sure if it's opened yet.

Really? Any idea where there is a map of LAX showing the locations of the bus stops? I did a quick google search, but the results didn't seem to help.

How do I not know this? Who is responsible for not telling me this?

Not all the stops are called out on the airport map. Not all of them are currently in use, and there is no LAX-run bus that connects all the terminals airside. The stops are there for private airline buses to use. And actually I shouldn't have said "all" as I'm not positive about T7/T8 (doesn't really matter since they've been connected airside to T6 forever), but I know for a fact that T1, T2, T3, TBIT, T4, T5, and T6 do.

Just 4 weeks out, the airside TBIT-T3 shuttle location/frequency should be fixed by now.

I must have missed the missive.

Think your confusing things. Those are buses to remote gates. What is being discussed is simply to move between terminals. Other then the AA shuttle between T4/5 and the Eagles Nest all others are there for remote gates. DL will operate a shuttle to take passengers between T2, T3, and TBIT.

Edit - AS runs a bus between T3/T6 for AS/VX connections.

I'm not talking about bus services, I'm talking about stops. My point, in response to the concerns of the person who I was originally replying to, is that the physical facilities needed for the DL bus to run are already in place in all the terminals, without having to reclear security. As I said there is no bus that connects all terminals airside.

I agree with you.

I think the old TBIT bus gates would be inconvenient though. Both forcing a long walk back to most of the new TBIT and putting the bus on west side.

Would be better if they could build a temp facility closer in on the other side of the old TBIT North concourse.

As Kumulani noted, the physical bus stations are indeed there. DL itself used the T3 bus station a few years ago (for DL-VA airside transfers).

I don't think they'd put up signs until the night they move; having signs about buses in place before the service actually starts would be very confusing. I'm sure there will be a rather massive replacement of signs all over the terminals the nights moves happen.

45 minutes to get from T3 to T7 on airside shuttle buses sounds optimistic. My recollection is that the T5-T3 airside bus for DL-VA transfers took close to 30 minutes, going on the far side of the AA and QF hangers (though TBIT was in a very different state then).

Last I heard they were working on a new bus station in the T4-TBIT connector, for this exact reason.

I belive the new bus station you mention would be at the junction of TBIT and T4, on the South Side of TBIT, under/near the connector ...

... which won't speed things up much in getting to/from the norther terminals.

Sort of like taking the bus from CDG 2E-M to 2F for an international to Intra-Europe flight on AF.

TBIT has 3 physical bus stops

1. West stop: near gate 148 but not current in use. LAWA put a bus facility here as a backup in case they had to scrap the underground tunnel to MSC. At one point after the aerial bridge connecting TBIT and MSC was cancelled, the plan was to activate this bus gate to move people to/from MSC. But thankfully, that is no longer the plan (underground walkway to/from MSC was approved in the budget).
2. North stop: in the "old" section of north wing - this is the current bus facility for flights parked at the remote gates. And I assume where Delta will run its shuttles to T2 and T3.
3. South stop: in the connector building but not currently in operation. Originally, the plan called for LAWA to operate shuttles to T2, T6, and T7 from this location but perhaps the Star Alliance airlines didn't want to pay for it (the last part is just my speculation).

Got an e-mail communication from Delta titled "What's New In Your Club" with the same blurb as posted here:

https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...d-updates.html

This May, Delta Sky Club is coming to Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 at LAX. Our Terminal 3 Club location opens on May 17 and will be available while we continue to make enhancements scheduled for completion by January 2018. The Club at Terminal 2 — opening May 13 — will have showers, so you can get refreshed after a long journey.
The e-mail also says "Enjoy the Club before your next flight:" with specific reference to a LAX itinerary I have on the 18th, so they may have targeted it to, or at least personalized it for, people flying through LAX around that time period.
