Delta's Operational move from T5 to T2/3 at LAX:

Delta has moved to: T2 and T3 with eventual connector to TBIT (note: there is currently only airside bus service to stay securely between T2 & T3, the walking connector has not been built yet.)

Where to check bags: As of January 13, 2020, non-Sky Priority customers must check their bag(s) at the terminal their flight departs from, unless their flight departs from TBIT, in which case, they must check their bag at Terminal 2. Sky priority customers can check their bag at either terminal. See this link for more information.

Date(s) of move: May 12, 2017 - May 17, 2017

Here is a helpful chart from Delta which covers all Domestic / Int'l. transfer combos (AND TOTAL TRANSFER TIMES) between T2, T3 & TBIT.

New Bus Routes will help with connections:
- Circular Airfield Bus between TBIT, T2 and T3
- Airfield Bus between T2 and T3

Bus Map

Will there be a SkyClub: Yes, there is one in each terminal. Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse will remain.
- The SkyClub in T2 opened on May 20th (Former AC Maple Leaf Lounge)
pix in post 1058
- The SkyClub in T3 opened on May 24th (Former VX Loft)

https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...d-updates.html

Where Will The Delta One Check In Lounge Be Located:

Delta will temporarily offer dedicated check-in space in Terminal 2 (first door closest to T1) while a long-term Delta One experience is finalized.
In T2, there is a small Delta One seating area with refreshments. An agent will escort you from the check in/lounge area through a back pathway up stairs to TSA precheck. Its a shorter walk to check-in at SkyPriority and easier if you have a carry on and don't want to drag it up a flight of stairs. 11/3/17)

Airlines joining DL in T2/3 for landside and departures:
- AeroMexico (T2)
- Virgin Atlantic (T2)
- WestJet (T3)

Landside T2 only, departures from TBIT:
- Virgin Australia
- Volaris

Landside T3 only, departures from TBIT:
- Avianca/Taca
- Copa (effective April 7)
- InterJet

Will there be secure links between T2-T3 and TBIT: Yes, the final plan is to let pax walk between all airside.

Yes there is. Been there since the latest addition that included a number of international airlines.

Good to know, I pretty much always access TBIT through the connector so hadn't seen this. The Precheck schedule https://www.tsa.gov/precheck/schedule on TSA's website doesn't show it, so looks like they need to update that.

It's is limited hours since there's only so many that partake. However I know there was a dedicated Precheck lane open when I was there two weeks ago.

Right now in TBIT I think it's just Emirates, Etihad, and Lufthansa that participate, so it probably opens before their flights.

I really don't think that's correct. I think they will occasionally do a "precheck light" type thing at TBIT, but no full/real recheck at this time at TBIT.

I didn't have to take out my laptop so I'm pretty sure it was regular Precheck. There was also a sign that pointed to where Precheck should go. However I do believe the hours are severely limited since most TBIT airlines don't do Precheck.

I contacted TSA this afternoon and they say they don't yet have precheck at TBIT, so, maybe it was just for you , they added "You may also show our officers your boarding pass to receive some form of expedited screening in the standard lanes."

Or, they don't know what they have (also possible.)

It could be possible. I've never seen such hectic TSA handling. This is different from just poor form/rudeness that you expect from TSA. The left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing. Showed my mobile BP to the WTMD agent, who then point to my bag and said put it thru. I did so and then the agent in front of the WTMD who helping push items thru the x-ray stops me as I go to go thru the WTMD. He ask how he's supposed to know I have Precheck. I point out that the agent working the WTMD had already seen it. He then looks at agent and asks, "I thought I was the one that needed to see it." Nope was the other agents answer. May have been a trial run the way it was going. It was clear they weren't used to the processes.

Maybe a form of "precheck-lite"? I experienced this last month. On arrival from BNE, and being nearly first off the aircraft at 6am I was through to the arrivals hall in five minutes and second into the arrivals security. I was informed that since my AA BP had Precheck on it I did not have to remove shoes or belt.

It's mentioned more here LAX AA T-4 - TBIT secure airside connector open 25 Feb 2016

The connector checkpoint is definitely Precheck lite only. What's being debated here is whether the main (upstairs) checkpoint has a dedicated precheck line or not.

I think it's the same situation-- precheck lite.

Hah - I have never used the main TBIT security since the connector checkpoint opened.

I'd wager (a small amount of) money that once DL has a meaningful number of flights out of TBIT (especially if they're "premium heavy"), they'll have a lounge solution in TBIT itself, much like they contracted with what is now the Wingtips lounge in JFK T4 before the SkyClub opened there (when operations were primarily out of T2 and T3). Maybe with KE?

Isn't the KE lounge the SkyTeam lounge at TBIT? So that would make sense. (I know I used it when I flew KLM last summer...)
