Which name do you prefer? D1 or BE?
 

Just curious for the general opinion of those on this board. Which name would you prefer for int'l/premium transcon business? The previous BusinessElite or the current Delta One naming?

Personally, I prefer BE / BusinessElite. Dunno why, I just prefer it; it seems a bit less pretentious and a bit more traditional.

Please note, I have added a poll to this topic to more accurately show which name is preferred.

Delta's business class isn't really at the level that a name like "Delta One" suggests. I like BusinessElite a lot more.

BE because it doesn't risk reimbursement issues if someone thinks it's IFC.

Not that anyone here, or at Delta cares...


BUT - Delta One is a less than intelligent name (trying to be nice). It makes no sense. One what?

Apparently, the same person that arranged for Zone 1 Boarding to be the third or fourth group to board still works there and lots of power.

Okay, the answer the question.

BE

Business Class.
DeltaOne might be confused with late morning flight LHR-JFK.

If in reality anyone is confused to the point that it creates an issue between a marketing name and a flight number, my opinion is that person is too impaired to travel.

Why not just call it business class and be done with it. Often times simple is best.

Person in LHR chatting on phone to friend: "I am flying Delta one today".
Friend: "The plane, the class, or both?"

Don't let yourself be suckered by cutesey marketing names are, well, ahem, suckers. Nobody wants to call J "second class" so BA calls it "Club World" and so on. All it does is confuse people. Maybe that's what they want.

How about calling it "Business Class" because that's what it is.

I like WBC as a name.

Or.....

• Diamond Class (F)
• Platinum Class (J)
• Gold Class (Y+)
• Silver Class (Y)

;)

Then DMs will think they're automatically entitled to Diamond class, etc. Moreover, FC is increasingly becoming kettle class.

Just call it Business.

D1 is not creative or interesting or accurate. Duh One

But please don't call it "B.E." Please no.
In some circles, BE = Barium Enema.

and I liked Ambassador and Royal Ambassador (as, I suspect, did you) ... but neither NW nor TW are in the equation today, so :rolleyes:

Not a fan of the D1 name. Tho anything is better than UA's BusinessFirst name
