I just got off MSN -MSP on a 200. It was lame. I fly that route every week in January (connecting), but I think all but one of my flights to MSP are all on the 200.

On the semi-bright side, after the small plane was delayed for weight issues, I got to take my first ride in the Porsche to my connecton.

Yeah but business travelers will fly DL and pay more if they have status or have a better schedule (within reason)

Holiday travelers will take 3 different airlines for 3 different legs of their trip if the price is $15 cheaper than a non-stop.

Wow, the MSP-MSN and vv route used to be mainline service although I tend to drive because it's nice to come/go when one wants and to have a car at the destination. However, for a one day trip in winter, I would fly.

between 2003-2009 I had the dubious pleasure of a UA CR2 on COS-LAX (833 miles) and CO ERJs on IAH-DAY (929), EWR-MCI (1093), SLC-IAH (1194), and OKC-EWR (1325)

as far as my DL trips, I'll nominate SLC-IAH (1194 on a single-cabin CR7); for CR2s I can point to DFW-TUS (813) and DSM-DCA (895); also a loooong thru flight: MCI-CVG-ROC (998, way back in 1995)

not just holiday travelers ... I'd suggest this applies to infrequent travelers who have been conditioned to only look at the airfare price in airline marketing, and who have little or no insight into the picture of either a total price or the overall travel experience

That is true, but travel Christmas week the percentages of people traveling on business plummets compared to those traveling for leisure/holidays, making it harder for DL to get the same margins on the flight even if more seats are sold that usual.

Yep one of the reasons I stopped flying CO-UA after nearly 14 years (1996-2010) and 0.5 million miles.

It's been a long time since DL had coach only CRJ-700s.

If you're not a HVC, DL might be pleased to hear this. Don't encourage them.

Not that long, my last flight on one was in February, 2010. So they were still around post-merger.

I got a Christmas card from Delta about seven years ago and I've never been anything over a PM and I'm certainly not an HVC. Perhaps it was an IT hiccup and I was sent one by mistake.

Unless they were personal Xmas cards from RA like the other thread then it doesn't count :-p
