Using RUCs? Make the agent select the seats!

Called to find flights with GUC inventory in December (MCO-LAS-MCO). Agent looked high and low. Found inventory on MCO-LAX-LAS-ATL-MCO. Only the LAX-LAS leg was wait-listed. Great. Had another, unrelated issue and forgot to ask for seat assignments. Bad move...

Hung up. Went online to choose seats. No Upgrades! Called back. Explained what I had been told. "Sorry sir, but there is no RUC inventory on those flights, but you are wait-listed for the RU on each flight."

The moral of the story: Make the agent tell you the seat assignments to confirm the inventory is really there.

24 hours risk free cancellation. Hello~~

And also it may be sent to be re issued which no one knows when will happen lol. Call and find flights again!

Did the OP verify that the flights were booked into OP/RP? Often when I call for a ticket, especially if it's something complicated, I try to do it when sitting in front of my computer, ideally on speakerphone with a cup of coffee or other beverage at my side. I then watch the PNR on my screen as the agent works on my flights. This avoids my constantly asking "now what time do I land and when do I depart" for connections as I'm fussy about what I consider to be SCT so that I don't like just being told when I leave the origin and when I'll arrive at the destination. Often I can pick the seats online while the agent is doing other stuff to the reservation.

The 2nd telephone agent confirmed that the RUCs were coded properly. How else to verify? The record shows V for the first 3 flights. RP for the final flight.

I have always been hesitant to look at the record while the agent is working on it... assuming such behavior would mess up Delta's technology.

I am seriously considering canceling the booking and starting over.

Why would it be re-issued?

If you're booked into RP for the final segment, it suggests but does not prove that at least the second RUC was coded properly for the return trip. Assuming that this means the agent knew what to do and didn't just randomly get lucky, the odds are that both RUCs were coded right. Unfortunately there's no way that we can really check this.

The first 3 legs indicate, "UPGRADE REQUESTED," rather than, "MEDALLION UPGRADE REQUESTED."

I suppose that means something...

Update. Decided to cancel and start over...

Another issue. I gave a 5 rating to the first agent. The one who erroneously told me 3 of the 4 flights had RUC inventory. How does one cancel a rating?
