Expert Flyer: DL Low/Partner Award Searching/Alerting Now Available

Say what????
It's a good start...

We are happy to announce that DL Low Level/Partner Award searching is now available on ExpertFlyer for the first time. With a Basic or Premium subscription, you can now search for DL R/O/N award classes via the Award & Upgrade search tool, listed under airline "DAL - DL".

Are all DL award levels able to be shown?
No, just the lowest level award classes R (First), O (Business), N (Economy). The low level awards are also the awards that DL airline partners have access to and use when redeeming partner miles for DL operated flights.

What flights will be shown for the DL award search?
DL operated flights only that have award availability in at least 1 cabin will be returned.

Can we set Flight Alerts and be alerted for inventory for those classes?
Yes! For Premium subscribers, Flight Alerts can be set either from the Award & Upgrade results for shown DL flights, or via the Create New Flight Alert page for any DL flight.

Does this mean that DL upgrade availability is being shown again?
No, the R and O classes being shown represent awards, not upgrades. Upgrade inventory was only available via the global reservation systems (GDS) which DL is preventing us from using for accessing their data. Feel free to express your opinion about that here: http://www.delta.com/contactus/pages...aint/index.jsp

Does this mean that the other non-award DL data (fare classes, seat maps, etc) will be returning to ExpertFlyer?
Not at this time, DL is still preventing us from accessing any reservation system (GDS) data.

Any luck finding something useful with it? What's "low" anyway? 10K? 20K?

This is odd, wonder why it's available...and how.

This is a nice surprise, limited but I could have used this recently. It's better than limiting the search to "high" award availability!

There are five tiers, and they're not published, though some blogs have saved them for posterity.

Low is what was previously "Saver." For domestic, lower-48 coach it's 12,500 one way.

Yeah I thought this was in there 'unofficially' for over a month already. Its nothing that DL did on their end to help, as they are still blocking EF from using the GDS data.
I'd assume they are inferring the DL low level inventory through their partner booking engine which would only display low on DL for awards.

So, what's the 5,000 mile one-way redemption that I got recently from SEA/SFO?

I really don't know if DL cares about their old posted tiers. I see 10K redemptions for one ways, and figure that's low. Then, someone has a 5K redemption.

My point being that "N" availability is good, sure, but if DL prices N at 35K miles, what's the point?

Delta & EF

This *is* a good start. Anything Delta will give us access to via EF is a good thing as far as I'm concerned. Thanks for the heads up!
