Pay with Miles Eligible for Delta SkyMiles Classic Card?
I currently have Gold Delta Skymiles card with sky miles in it.
My yearly fees is due for $95 and the only reason I'm keeping the credit card is i still have miles that i want to purchase ticket with. So i called CS and they said i can downgrade to Delta SkyMiles Classic Credit Card and the fees is only $55 Im just wondering if i can still use the Pay with Miles option with Delta SkyMiles Classic Credit Card or not. Does anyone have that credit card? Here is the link to the Delta SkyMiles Classic Credit Card http://delta.skymilesoffers.softcryl.../skymiles.html Thanks in advance |

Maybe someone that has the card knows otherwise |
Below is a comparison of the Classic and Gold cards.
Classic SkyMiles Credit Card •Basic Mileage (2 miles per dollar on Delta and 1 mile per dollar elsewhere) •In-Flight Savings (Effective September 2, 2011) Gold Delta SkyMiles Credit Card •No Annual Fee First Year •Baggage Fee Waiver / First Bag Free Benefit •Basic Mileage (2 miles per dollar on Delta and 1 mile per dollar elsewhere) •$29 Sky Club Access •Pay with Miles •Priority Boarding (Effective September 1, 2011) •In-Flight Savings(Effective September 1, 2011) |
Seems that the answer is a No.
I suggest paying the additional $40 in annual fees. |

If you're going to pay annual fees, you might as well upgrade the card to the platinum. You can earn MQM/RDM bonuses at 25k and 50k in spending, and you'll get the companion certificate upon renewal.

Nobody own Delta SkyMiles Classic Card to confirm?

If you aren't using the card for the free checked bags or the priority boarding you're better off with the credit card I'm using : The Bank of America Travel Rewards Card. There's no annual fee.
You get 1.5 points per $ spent on anything and 3 points on travel purchases through their OTA (Which has prices that always match Delta's website in my experience). You also have the flexibility of using your points with any airline. |
